Monte Carlo's POV
"Ah...achoo!!" I sneezed into a tissue, eyes watering slightly as I rubbed my nose.
"Bless your face." Alaska quickly said while looking through the pharmacy's stock of tea.
"Thanks. Whew, glad my days of being sick are over. Just the little sneezes remain." I sighed happily, finally realizing what section of the pharmacy we were looking through. "Wait, why are you looking at tea? You hate the stuff." I pointed out, putting a hand over my hip.
"Furry face's birthday was a few days ago and I forgot to get him a gift. Usually America gets him a Mc.Donald's gift card that I sign my name on it with his. But, eyebrows would always just give it back. I thought I might give him something that he might actually like this year, ya know?" She asked, not looking back at me.
"H-His birthday?! Why didn't he say anything...?" I asked, feeling a little bad that I didn't get him anything, or even wish him a happy birthday.
"He doesn't like celebrating it I guess, or doesn't think it's very important." She shrugged, picking out a box with sleeping bear on it. "Sleepy time... I think I'll get this one for him." She nodded, tapping her chin with her finger.
"Not important...? That's a little sad..." I thought about what she said as we checked out. "Maybe... I could show him that birthdays are meant to be celebrated." I thought out loud.
"What would you do? Get him an awesome gift or something?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, something better..." I thought about what I could do for my friend.
"A party! Who doesn't like parties?" I finally came up with an idea.
"Um...England? England doesn't." Alaska said bluntly, taking the plastic bag in hand before leading me out the store and to her house.
"Yeah, but I'm talking about a nice party, not the ones where you wake up in a bathtub." I clarified.
"And then, he'll be so grateful that you revived his love for small parties, that he'll confess his love for you and make you his princess, right?" She asked, digging in her pocket for her keys as we walked up the driveway.
Hearing Alaska speak of England that way made my mood sadden a bit. "I think he only wants to be my friend, Alaska... I'm not sure if what I feel is mutual..." I said softly, stepping into her and America's shared home once she finally got the door open.
"Monte...you may want to get stronger glasses, you might be going a little blind." She flicked my forehead, making me flinch.
"I'm sure. Anyway, we need your brother's help, the party animal. Think he can keep a secret?" I asked, wanting to change the subject from my crush.
"Probably." Alaska shrugged a bit. "BROTHER?!" She shouted, the volume of her holler made me jump.
"WHAAAT!? I'M PLAYING CALL OF DUTYY!!" I heard a shout right back.
"WELL STOP!! WE NEED YOU TO HELP US PLAN A PARTY!" She shouted again.
"A WHAAT?!"
"A PARRTYY!!"
"Is communication in your house always like this, Alaska?" I asked, rubbing my forehead.
"YES!!" She turned her hollering me, making me glare at her, crossing my arms over my chest.
