A Twist Unexpected

Entering the hut was another hole with a ladder leading down into the earth. It reminded me of those stairs in the dungeons. I wonder if whoever built this based it off them for symbolic purpose? Always going for the next level or something like that. Figuring there was nothing to wait for, I started climbing down.

During the decent I noticed how the earth seem to turn from dirt to a firm sort of clay. I guess rock would be a better description. The further down I went, the more I realized how difficult it would be to have tunneled through all this. The first chamber opened up to a busy room. It was a pretty large area with several Pokémon chatting away.

"Are you the ones who just entered?" I spun around to face a colorful bird Pokémon. He had a green and yellow stomach, with a pink beak, white collar, and a black tail and head to finish it off.

Aria spoke up on my behalf, "Yes, and what is you name?"

"Chatot, Just Chatot thank you, some of us elders stick to our species name you know. Now I hate to break it to you, but we don't want any sales Pokémon here so I'm going to have to ask you to-"

"Mister Chatot Sir." Ellie stepped forward, "We're actually here to become guild members."

"W-what?!" He basically shouted out his disbelief, he turned his back to us mumbling. "I didn't think anyone would want to join. Considering how vigorous our training is..."

I frowned confused whether he was talking to us or himself. "Excuse me Sir? What's that about the training?"

He jumped before spinning around embarrassed, "Ah y-yes of course! I mean the training is as lax as can be! It should be easy for you. This is Wigglytuff's Guild after all. Hahaha!"

I didn't like this bird very much, but Aria was already excited judging from her tails wagging. I looked at this bird once more pondering what I've gotten myself into.

He fluttered his wings taking a more professional stance. "If you will follow me, we will need to head towards the Guildmaster's quarters so we can see about possibly signing up your team." I dejectedly followed him close behind Ellie and Aria.

Down the next floor was a much larger area. To the right was a massive dinning hall and kitchen with eight different tables able to hold around a dozen Pokémon each. Outside that was a small shop or something with a blueish toad standing next to a cauldron of purple liquid. Near the further end of the right wall was a hallway with 'Sentry Post' written above it. If I were to continue straight forward, there was a double set of wooden doors with a sign that read, 'Training Field' above it. Then there was the left side which had the dorms and Guildmaster's quarters. It was much larger than I thought it would be down here, and the fact there was some natural light surprised me.

"This way please." Chatot fluttered his wings before marching us towards the Guildmaster's door.

Suddenly a large explosion erupted, causing us to fall down. I turn to a large portal or something. Poring out of it was two Pokémon. I panicked turning to the others, but everyone else was motionless. In my hesitation, the larger Pokémon grabbed me by the neck before slapping on two rusted bracelets on either of my paws. He then threw me against the wall knocking the air out of me. "Ha, a human fresh for the taking!" From my dazed state, I saw it was a Pokémon that looked like me except... cooler.

Like me he had blue and black fur, but his chest had short beige fur with a metal spike jutting from it, as well as one for each paw. He was also taller, and had four bangs instead of the two that I had. If I didn't know better I'd think we were related.

"What kid?! Never seen a Lucario before?!" I tried to get up, yet in doing so I felt a massive pain run throughout my entire body. I dropped with a small grunt. "Haha, I love it when they struggle, right Nari?!" I looked where he addressed his companion, and shrunk. I saw the Pokémon I met in the caves, the sister, chuckling.
