We walked into the kitchen where Esme, Carlisle, and Emmett were following the instructions that the guy on the tv was giving.
"Hi, would you like to help?" Esme offers
"Sure," I say "What should I do?"
"Well you could cut up vegetables." she says
"Okay, cool." I say stepping over to where Emmett was cutting vegetables while Rosalie put them in a clear glass bowl
"Ok, Emmett, show her what to do." Esme orders going back to the stove with Carlisle
"Here's a knife and a cutting board," Emmett puts down the items in front of me "You could cut these up and put them in here."
"Be careful not to cut yourself" Rosalie warns
"So Olivia, how old are you?" Emmett asks looking up at me while cutting
I look down at what I'm doing, "15 almost turning 16"
"Really? I thought you'd be older!" Rose raises her eyebrows
"Nope, only 15."
"Tell us some of your hobbies." Esme suggests
"I don't have many," I laugh "Mostly drawing really. Every once in a while I might read a lot, but it's just a repeated phase."
I lean over to dump the vegetables in the bowl, and as I do, the knife beside me slides off the counter.
Emmett makes a grab for it,but I have it in my hands before it hits the floor.
They look at eachother alarmed.
I place the knife back on the counter and look at my finger. There was a tiny cut lingering by the tip of my finger.
I see the blood draw up in a small dot like form and look up at them.
I wipe it on my jeans and continue cutting as if that didn't happen.
"Are you okay?" Esme asks
"Yeah, just a small prick. That's all." I smile
I see them all on edge, maybe confused by my past actions.
I could hear a car out on the main road. It's coming this way.
Rosalie growled under her breath as I finished cutting up the vegetables and put them in the bowl provided.
She plays it off cool and takes my bowl to Carlisle and Esme by the stove,
I hear the door open and close downstairs, then voices.
I smell human blood, I haven't fed in a long time.
"Who's downstairs?" I ask
They all look at each other questionably and look at me in surprise
"I- I don't know why don't you kids stay here while we go and see." Esme says walking out the room with Carlisle hot on her heels
"You could hear them?" Emmett asks
"Not really, but the door was slammed shut, so I'm guessing somebody was there." I lie
"Olivia, how were you able to catch that knife so quickly?" Rosalie stares at me
"It was right there, it wasn't very hard." I stammer
They're catching on
"You're not human, are you?" He softly asks taking a step forwards
I stay quiet.
"Are you?" He repeats
"Yes- I mean no," I stutter "It's confusing okay?"
"We'll talk about this later, Bella and Edward are here." Carlisle says walking in with Esme
I nod and stand in front of Emmett and Rosalie just as Edward and a girl with brown hair walks in
"This is Bella" Edward says mainly to me
"Hi, we've heard so much about you!" Esme beams stepping towards Bella and shaking her hand
"Hi" Bella whispers
Edward suddenly looks at me, amazed.
He doesn't say anything, but let's Esme continue talking
Rosalie growls once again, the glass bowl in her hand shattering
"Perfect" Rosalie says stepping away from me and Emmett, and over the mess of lettuce on the floor
"What just happened?" I whisper to Emmett
"Bella's not hungry." He whispers back and looks back at Rosalie and Bella
"Yea, it's just because I know that you guys don't eat." Bella defends
"Of course, it's very considerate of you." Esme says before getting interrupted by Edward
"Just ignore Rosalie, I do." He simply states
"Yea, lets just keep pretending this isn't dangerous for all of us." Rosalie snapped
"I would never tell anyone anything." Bella points out
"Yeah well the problem is you two have gone public now so..." Emmett says trailing off at the end
"Emmett-" Esme scolds before getting interrupted once again
"No, she should know. The entire family will be implicated if this ends up badly." Rosalie harshly explains
"Badly as in, I would become the meal." Bella says quietly
It stays quiet for a second as we all stare at each other.
"Hi, Bella. I'm Alice." Alice speaks up
"Hi" Bella simply replies
"My, you do smell good." Alice says hugging Bella
"Alice what are you-" Edward gets cut off
"Don't worry, Bella and I are going to be great friends." Alice chirps dancing her way back to Jasper
Carlisle looks at Jasper and then back at Bella before speaking again, "Sorry, Jasper's our newest vegetarian. It's a little difficult for him."
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Jasper politely says
"It's ok Jasper, you won't hurt her." Alice reassures
"Alright, I'm going to take you on a tour of the rest of the house" Edward tells Bella before leaving
"Clean this up. Now" Esme orders Rosalie walking out the room along with Alice, and Jasper
Rosalie grunts but starts picking it up
"You," Carlisle looks at me "I need you in my office

"Earlier, I heard you're not human?" Carlisle starts "mind explaining?"
"There's nothing much to explain, I'm only half Vampire. The other half being human." I say
He closes his eyes for a second, probably stressed.
"Ok so Olivia, I understand that you're half vampire and half human?" Carlisle opens his eyes again
I nod and he writes it down
"Do you have the same characteristics as a vampire?" he asks
"I run a bit slower, I'm weaker, I basically have everything a vampire would have slimmed down a bit." I respond
He writes it down and continues asking me questions for the next 30 minutes

"Alright, so you're half vampire? Dude, that's awesome! Why didn't you just tell us from the start?" Emmett asks
"Well, because I thought that you guys would all be defensive against me." I say
I look around, the trees all green, the moss on the trunk Emmett and I were sitting on. I notice Emmett's eyes light up with an idea.
"What?" I push
"We should have a paintball fight! We have the guns stored away somewhere in the closet." He says
