The cast scratches against my skin and causes an itch, but I ignore it and push on. It's really dark outside, the only light from the moon which filters through the leafy canopy. I'm trying to hunt down a monster, a werewolf in fact. There have been signs of it in a three towns over, following the death of one of the people from the local high school. It's really shaken the town and I know that it's my responsibility to take it on.
My hand is clenched tightly around the blade of the knife, my eyes looking around for any sign of the creature. I caught wind of it earlier, knowing that this is its hunting ground. But I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've been out here for hours and I haven't found anything.
I let out a sigh and absentmindedly scratch under the cast onto my arm. I bite my lip and think for a moment, deciding to go back to the car and regroup. I turn make my way back towards where I parked the car, still on alert in case something comes out. But soon I reach the edges of the brush and break through, stepping into the car park of the giant park.
Another car is park d a few spots down from mine and from this distance, I can see that it's people making out. The windows are steamed up a bit and I roll my eyes at the sight, just wanting to get out of here. As I walk to the car, I hear muffled sounds coming from inside the other cab.
"Jason, stop." A woman's voice says.
"It's alright baby, just relax." The man says back and I slow down, looking towards the car with knitted eyebrows.
"No, please. I don't want to do this." The woman's voice says, it becoming louder and more desperate.
"Just let me take care of you." The man urges and I begin to walk towards the car with urgency.
"Stop, please!" The girl cries and I open up the car door, knowing I need to help this girl.
"Hey, she said no!" I yell, but freeze when I take in who it is.
The brunette guy turns and looks towards me, a glare on his face which I recognise instantly. This is the guy who has been pawing at my sister, who is underneath him now with terrified eyes. Her shirt is undone, his hand laying on her chest. Fury takes over my body and I reach into the car, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him out.
"Harlow! Stop! What're you doing?!" My sister cries.
I push Jason up against the car and get right in his face, my voice loud and shaky with anger, "Don't you ever out your hands on my little sister again or I swear to God I will break every bone in your body."
Mary scrambles out of the car and yes to push me away, "Get away from him!"
"Mary, stay out of this." I hiss, my eyes never leaving the guy who has a disinterested look on his face, "Stay away from her."
"Jason, don't listen to him. He just needs to learn to stay out of my life." She growls towards me before looking back at him, "We can go somewhere else-"
"This isn't worth it." He says, shaking his head as he shrugs out of my grasp, "I'm heading."
"Jason, come back." Mary pleads and he scoffs and shakes his head, "Nah. You're reading too into whatever this is. It's just a hookup, but you're too uptight and frigid. Not my type."
My anger takes control and I ball my fist up, punching him in the face. He falls back against the car and slides the the ground, blood trickling from his nose.
