(I know its kind of a slow start, and first chapters are short, but i worked harder on this one so i hope you like, i wonder what the meeting is about eh?)

Dinner was filled with small talk here and there, my fathers booming voice trying to make conversation with the Dimitri who sat at the other end of the table, and my sister across from him trying to keep his attention. My fiance face was beginning to turn an unhealthy shade of red, and i was beginning to get a headache, starring at my plate i was so ready to have this night over with.

"Jaslyn, i am talking to you." i looked up, the room had gone quiet and my father was starring at me expectdently.

"I'm sorry father, i missed what you said."

"The meeting, its time and you havent touched your food, must we wait on you to finish eating or can you finish that later."

"Oh we can start the meeting now sir." i knew if i asked to wait on me i would of been given the disappointment stare.

"Amiah, will you have the servants clean up this, and put the children to bed."

"Yes brother." my aunt gave me an apologetic look.

"Oh Amiah, I'll help you." my sisters sugery sweet voice sent shivers down my spine.

"Not needed Rosemeria, go to the meeting." if Rose was my fathers favorite, you could say that i was Amiah favorite, and i loved it.

"Dimitri, be a dear and walk with me." her long thick eyelashes could pick up a wind at hard she was batting them.

"Fiance." Daniel held out his hand, and i saw out of the corner of my eye that both D and Rose and sent angry glares in our direction, i took his hand and allowed him to lead me to the meeting room.

I looked at Daniel, he was one of the most handsome men in our covenant, i have had a crush on him since we were three, his sandy blond hair was styled in a messy look, and his hazel eyes were always a mystery to me. We had found out we would be engaged three years ago, i was fifteen then and he had just turned sixteen, to say i was ecstatic would be an understatement i still remember that day fondly.

It was Friday, there would be a covenant summer cookout tonight, and father had said he had a surprise for me, he had a huge smile on his face, a smile i haven't seen since before mother died, i missed it. I knew father had found it hard to be around me i may not look like my mother, but he use to say i had her soul. Rose looked just like her thought, long beautiful honey hair with bright blue eyes, beautiful word could not describe her, she had a big heart, and what my grandmother use to say eyes that you couldn't help but trust, i envied my sister for looking my mother, maybe if i looked like her people and father would love me more.

the barbeque began at five, the sun was warm against my skin as i sat at the table, i didnt have many friends in the covenent, my only friends were Weres, and i never got to see them anymore, and it made me sad since they moved away.

"Ladies and gentlemen i have a proud announcement to make!" The back yard was filled with all eighty one of our wicken members, small children hushed their voices to whispers, and adults all turned to my father. i was on his right and rose was on his left, she was thirteen but she looked older then me.  "My oldest daughter will betrothed to Mr. Daniel West, i could not ask for a better future son in law and future king to take my place. As the crowed cheered i allowed my eyes to wander the faces of all those that were celebrating me and my new engagement, my eyes finally fell on the beautiful boy i had always liked, but the look on his face told me he was not happy about this arragement.

"Its time to start the meeting, I know all of you are wondering why Alpha Lawernce is doing here, and i will adress that in due time, as all of you may know, it hasnt been easy sailing with with the fairy clan naighboring us, we have had to settle many arguements between our people and theirs, and the Fair King is begining to grow restless of the daily bickering, and i myself agree, that its time to seperate the two. Sadly they were on this territory first, so it is us that must leave." As people began to shout, i looked over to D, he was whispering something to Adrian, i could see that it was something funny at the way Adrian tilted his head back in laughter.
