Chapter 9: Surprises

«Pulls me in, enough to keep me guessing... mane I should stop and start confessing, confessing yeah» I sing. I love the song "There's nothing holding me back", especially now that I made out with Albert.
«Can you change song, please?» Elizabeth asks me bored.
«I like this one!» I groan.
«Put "Heavy Dirty Soul" on» She says.
«After this» I reply.
"Oh, I've been shaking, I love it when you go crazy, you take all my inhabitations, baby there's nothing holding me back, you take me places that tear up my reputation, manipulate my decisions, baby there's nothing holding me back".
Elizabeth is at my house, in my room, on her phone. We're waiting for Erika and Leah to come.
It's Friday at 5 and we're waiting for our two friends to come to get ready for the party.
«Put my song on now» Elizabeth says.
After 10 minutes they're here.
Elizabeth and Leah are the best at style and makeup, so Elizabeth is going to help me and Leah Erika.
After we put on our dresses, Elizabeth asks «Where's your makeup, Ste?».
«There» I point at my drawer.
«I'll do a bluish color on you, it will highlight your beautiful eyes» She explains.
When she puts the mascara on I cry several times, but in the end I manage to look decent. Actually, perfect.
Elizabeth put the mascara on perfectly well.
When it's time we go to Jennifer's house.
«Hi Jenny, thanks for the invite» I salute her.
«Hi Ste, your welcome»
The party is in Jenny's back garden. It's so big and it has a swimming pool as well, Elizabeth was right: we needed costumes. Lucky we got them.
I checked the people. Drunken ones, funny ones.
«This is going to be fun!» Elizabeth yelled over the sound of music.
«I'm going to Jacob» Elizabeth shouted before running to her new boyfriend.
I was sure they were kissing, you could see it from miles away.
If only Albert was here at the party.
I went to get a drink. At the table someone whispers «Hello» in my ear.
It was Tobias.
«Hi» I say insecure. I don't know if I want to talk to him yet.
«I bet you're going to kiss me tonight» He bets.
«I don't think so» I say secure.
He gets closer to me, forcing me to lean on the table.
«If you kiss me, I'm going to tell Albert» I blackmail him.
And what does he do? He kisses me. Not on the mouth thought, he just touches my upper lip.
I punch him in the mouth hardly.
«I'm going to tell Albert» I say angrily.
«You aren't» He replies.
«You're not the one to tell me what to do!» I growl.
«Come on, Ste. Don't do this to me, I didn't even kiss you properly» he wails.
«You'll see» and with that I'm gone.
Or, I want to go.
He gets my hand in time and pulls me to him.
This time I'm the one kissing him. I don't even know why I did that. I probably wasn't thinking. But the kiss was nice. I'm confused.
«You kissed me» Tobias whispers.
«Forget about it» I say sheepishly.
«Are you still going to tell Albert?» he asks with a smirk.
Of course not.
«F*ck off» I say. Then I go without the drink and leave him alone.
"This couldn't've happened" I keep thinking.
But I couldn't lie to myself convincingly enough.
«Weren't you with Albert?» Lisa asks me.
«Huh? Um yeah, why?» I babble.
«You were smooching Tobias» She says.
Sh*t!
«He forced me» I lie.
«It didn't seem like it» she replies.
«What the f*ck do you know? You weren't next to me. What if I was going away and he blackmailed me to kiss him?» I yell.
She looks at me incredulously.
«Yeah. So shut your face up» I say before going away.
How dare she. Even if I was lying.
On my way home I get a message fron Albert:
A: I wanna take you on a date hun😍
Me: rly? Aww😍
A: tmr at 6?
Me: def
         Aww
         Can't wait
A: me too
      Ily❤️
Me: ily too❤️
A date with Albert is always a good date.
I needed Serena's or Elizabeth's help for what to wear.
I'll ask Serena. I don't want to explain to Elizabeth what happened with Tobias.
Me: Ser can u help me? Date with Al😍

«Here I am!» Serena shouts as soon as I open the front door.
«I need help!» I yell hysterically. Mom and dad are out, otherwise I wouldn't've shouted like a maniac.
«Don't worry, Darling, I'm here» She consoles me.
We start laughing while we climb up the stairs to my room.
She looks at my wardrobe then says «Lucky for you, I brought some if my clothes. First of all... this». She pulls out a padded bra from her tiny bag.
"How does it fit?" I ask myself.
I take my t-shirt and bra off and put hers on. It fits perfectly.
«Now this top» She gives me a tiny black top. My mother would NEVER make me ware this. You could see my belly, but it showed my body shape.
«And these jeans» She gets my tight black jeans.
I put them on. All in all I look very sexy.
«Thanks» I mumble.
«Makeup now» She orders.
At 5.30 she finishes putting the makeup on.
Wow, I look beautiful.
My eyes are black at the sides and sparkling white in the centre. The mascara is perfect, the eye-liner looks really neat and so does the pencil.
«It's splendid» I mumble.
«I know, right?» She exclaims.

Albert is sitting on a towel, looking at the sea.
I come from behind him and stroke his hair. At least he still has it, not like Tobias.
«Honey» He mumbles «How are you?».
«Fine thanks and you?» I ask.
«I'm happy».
«Me too».
«Did Elizabeth do your makeup?» He demands.
«No. It was Serena» I reply.
«She did a good job» He notices.
«Yeah».
«You know» He says «Two minutes have already passed and you still haven't kissed me. I'm highly offended», he makes a sad face.
I come closer to him and kiss him.
«Ste...open it» He says.
He gives me a navy blue box. I open it and inside I find a ring.
