"Are you sure?" I turned to look at my butt in the mirror. "It's awfully short."

Tyra laughed, "that's the point honey."

Julie laughed standing up from my bed, "and it's only short because somehow your body decided to grow everything nice over the summer."

I blushed deep and looked back in the mirror. I finally turned 17 this summer and somewhere along the line my curves finally started to appear. My hair got a bit blonder with the summer rays and my eyes stayed their regular blue. My boobs however grew a cup size making me a C much to Julie's dismay and my butt rounded out pretty nice. I was happy and nervous. Would people notice me more now? I was always the quiet one in school and I wasn't sure I wanted that to change.

"Please tell me you aren't over thinking the outfit, I swear to you I'll," Tyra started but I stopped her.

"No, no, I'm just nervous. I mean no ones even seen me this summer," I mumbled.

"And sadly no one really did before. But it's our senior year and you're coming out of that shell missy!" Tyra wiggled her finger in my face.

I couldn't help, but laugh at how much she cared. She was always the first person to stick up for me. That was actually how we became friends in 5th grade. Billy Cranks pulled my hair a little to hard and he quickly learned that Tyra could kick.

"Hey, maybe you'll finally get a good date," Julie smiled walking to my door.

"Ohhhh yes, a football one!" Tyra shouted following her out.

Football date? That's the last thing I needed. You had to be one brave soul to get in a relationship with a Texas football player. Football in Texas is like the olympics. You start out young and it stays serious the rest of your life. The football guys weren't just popular, they were the town talk. If I dated one, that ones I'd be the town talk. I wasn't ready to talk to people in my school, non the less strangers.

We made our way to school and sadly I had to spilt up with the girls for homeroom. Julie's mom, Mrs. Taylor, was my homeroom teacher though and I couldn't be happier.

She hugged me tight as I walked in, "how was your summer darling?"

I pulled back smiling, "it was great. I helped my grandma on the farm most of the summer."

She winked, "and it shows."

I laughed and walked to my seat in the back. She'd know me since I was 7 and never had much filter since. She was another mom to me pretty much. I started to look trough my book bag when a familiar voice came close.

"Well would you like at what we've got here. New girl."

I looked up to see Tim Riggins. Tim was your typical football player. Womanizer in all his rights and a bad boy. I'm not one to pass judgment so fast, but no matter how many girls he 'dated' he never seemed to get nicer. But I still liked to look at him. He had brown hair the was usually a mess down to his chin and deep brown eyes. His muscles were pretty nice considering all the training his did for football. And he was the perfect height to look up to, but no way was I ever going to be a victim to him.

"Holy shit, is that Ally Rae?" he questioned getting closer.

"Hello Tim," I grinned looking forward to avoid him.

He took it upon himself to sit in the seat in front of me.

"So when did this all happen," he motioned to my body.

"That's none of your business," I picked up my book and started reading.

"Whatcha got there?" I could tell he was grinning in front of me.

"What do you want?" I said looking back up at him.

"Isn't it clear?" he winked and flashed a big smile.

"Not in your lifetime," I gritted.

"Awww come on, I'm a good guy."

"Tim, leave the girl alone," Jason all but shouted from the other side of the room.

"Fine, fine," he got up and leaned down whispering in my ear, "for now."

I closed my eyes right trying not to let him affect me. However, his hot breathe on my neck was probably one of the best things I've ever felt. I've only ever had one boyfriend and well, to put it nicely, he was an asshole. He got to handsie to fast and Tyra had to take care of him. He goes to West High now. Thank the lord for the lines.

I finally relaxed as the bell rang for class to start, but once Mrs. Taylor started going around handing us our schedules I couldn't help, but feel eyes on me. When I glanced to my side those big brown eyes were staring intently. This was going to be a long year.
