It'd been a week since I learned just how much I hated tequila and just how much I didn't hate Tim. I know, I know. I'm falling for the womanizer; sue me.
He wasn't that bad this week. Of course he made his usual smartass comments, but I think he liked having someone who could give them back. He also tried to make sexual innuendos at me, but like a good guy he never made a pass. He kept his word just like the night with Tyler. He wouldn't push me to that point if I didn't want it.
Part of me wanted to say yes. Part of me wanted to be in bed with him at every moment of the day. The other part of me wanted me to run. It wanted me to get smart and tell him to leave me alone and not in the joking way I've been doing. I couldn't figure out what part I wanted to listen too. I've never had this problem in my life. All I could do was blame my damn boobs.
"Ally was is it so hard for you to just say yes or no?" Julie asked looking through her locker.
"Because it's Tim Riggins. What happens when he breaks my heart? Everyone will just tell me I told you so," I groaned leaning against the locker.
"And if he does Matt will just kick him in the balls and send you a video to make it all better," she smiled shutting her locker.
I couldn't help but laugh. She at first hated the whole idea, but apparently Matt started to convince her that maybe I was a good idea for Tim. Now she was all about it. Tyra always was. I think she wanted me to get into bed with him as fast as I could to tell you the truth.
Saturday morning rolled around and I had the joy of being up bright and early to help my mom crop part of our field. It was our last field of corn and I was ready to get it over with. I wasn't even in the tractor for 5 minutes I saw that beat up blue truck driving up to my house.
"You've got to be shitting me," I mumbled driving the tractor back home.
I hopped out to see him smiling big leaning against his truck.
"I like the overalls," he winked.
"Easier to keep you out," I smiled overly big walking up to him.
"Oooo I like a challenge."
I felt the blush going across my face.
"Hang out with me today," he said closing the space between us.
"I can't," I tried to steady my breathing as he stood so close.
"Why not?" he pushed a few stray hairs behind my ear.
"I have to help my mom get the corn field done," I mumbled.
"Ally, who are you," my mom stopped dead in her tracks no doubt knowing exactly who I was talking too.
"Well if it isn't one of the greatest fullbacks to grace the panthers line-up," she grinned walking up to him.
I wanted to hide so back. My mom was flirting with him. How is this even my life?
"Thank you Mrs. Rae. I try real hard to keep the team going," he grinned shaking her hand.
"You do a very good job," she grinned.
"Actually Mrs. Rae I was wondering if you'd mind me stealing Ally here for the day. I know she's supposed to help out around here, but I'd," she didn't let him finish.
"Not at all! Well get one of the neighbors to finish up. Ally you go get ready and hang out with this man."
My mouth almost dropped to the ground. She was pushing me away and into his arms. I think she desperately wanted it to be her, but instead she was going to live the football jock dreams through me.
"I'll be out in a couple minutes," I mumbled walking up to my house.
"I'll be here Rae," he shouted back as I walked inside.
It was happening. I was caving into the womanizer himself and all thanks to my mother. Lord I pray this goes well. I really don't just want to be on the list.
I got dressed quickly into a tshirt and jean shorts with my cowboy boots and rushed back outside. I was worried what my mom might say to the boy while I was gone.
"Okay mom, I'll be going now," I said walking to the passenger side.
"Be safe you two," she said walking to the door.
I put my head in my hands sitting in the cab. Tim hopped in laughing.
"I like her," he smiled.
"And clearly she likes you," I buckled up and he followed turning the car on.
"Well sadly she'll have to get her heart broken, because I've only got eyes for one," he winked.
"That was so cheesy it hurt."
He laughed and turned the radio on starting to drive. Billy Currington's 'Must be Doing Something Right' came on and I started to hum along. Before I knew it Tim was singing along. By no means was he ever meant to sing, but boy did it melt my heart to here it. He sang it with so much passion and every time the line 'deep blue need you eyes' came up he looked right at me. In the moment I knew that no matter what happened I was going to fall for him.
