A MONTH BEFORE THE ACCIDENT
PART ONE: 6:50 am
YOONGI FOUND IT HARD TO ASSIMILATE INTO THE NEW SCHOOL HE WAS BEING FORCED TO MOVE TO.
He found the city too noisy and the school too overpopulated. From his apartment window, he could see the bustling streets and hear the chatter as the day began.
Yoongi didn't like changing schools, especially since he was now a Senior, and having only one month left before school would once again end; he thought it pointless to move. But of course, he had no say in the matter.
He grabbed a piece of toast as he left the house, saying a quick goodbye to his mother as he closed the door after him.
His dad had already left, leaving Yoongi to catch a ride on the bus to school. He had not once gotten the recognition he believed he should have received from his father. No matter how hard he tried, no matter the amount of awards and medals he earned. His father remained indifferent—colder than the north winter.
He told himself that it was alright though. Yoongi knew that his father had to work early in the mornings, especially now that they would soon be going back to Seoul. His parents wanted him to go to college in Seoul and Yoongi honestly wasn't complaining. America was great, but Seoul was home and he missed home.
Yoongi pulled on his headphones as he boarded the bus and sat down. He may have found the bus okay to ride, but he didn't like the noise.
The funky beat of All Eyes On Me slowly transformed the dull outlook of the city passing by. Soon, the world was drilled away as the music began to beat against his skull as he maxed the volume.
Yoongi loved music. He found it soothing and took refuge in the lyrics. Music was his best friend.
He still remembered when he had first came to America. His family were immigrants who like most had no family and a large house with an even larger mortgage that they couldn't afford. Because they couldn't really speak English as well as Yoongi, they couldn't get any good paying jobs which eventually led to them loosing everything.
Instead of turning back and going home, his parents rented a small two bedroom one bathroom apartment and stayed there until his father got a high paying job.
It was a good job, one that helped them get a much nicer apartment and have a normal lifestyle for a while. Life slowly began to stabilize and feel normal for him again. Until two months into having it, his dad got promoted.
Now to anyone else, this would be great, but to Yoongi it meant more moving which meant new schools and along with that new bully's.
Yoongi hated moving, because he knew that no matter how hard he tried the kids at school would make fun of him and call him names.
He didn't like it, but as he grew older he began to mature. He understood more and soon completely dismissed the idea of ever making genuine friends. He felt superior compared to his classmates. He figured he didn't need someone when he had himself.
That was when Yoongi turned to music. It was one song in particular that made him fall in love with the harmony of the music. He couldn't remember the name of it, but he remembered the beat.
