A week

It's been almost a week since Athena had taken refuge at Port Royal in the castle of Barbossa. She was treated as the goddess she was. Everything she wanted and desired was provided. Her bedroom was redecorated with fine silk and the most expensive candles and lanterns that could be found. Dozens of vases were kept in and around the balcony, the bathroom and her room with flowers from the gardens and there were five maids at her service round the clock. Her room was guarded by four guards who didn't let anyone enter except Barbossa, Shansa and jack. Barbossa tried to please the lady daily by entertaining her with music, dance, plays and different types of dishes but the one thing he noticed was she loved books the most.

From the first day she reached Port Royal, she asked for a dozen of books and everyday she asked for a different kind of book. She didn't have to even read the book. If she didn't feel like reading, she just had to place her hand on top of the book and the whole story of the book gets in her mind. Before she even demands the books she knows how it will be exactly and when Barbossa asked why she had to read the books if she knew everything about them. Then she would say 'she loved the feel of papers in her fingers, the smell of a new book or the torn pages of an old one. There's something in books that cannot be found anywhere else in the world even Olympus'

Barbossa was quite impressed by her thoughts and the way she loved books. There was something in her that was more human than any other gods or goddesses but he could clearly see that she was not the same old Athena anymore, as she doesn't remember even a little bit of her past. She didn't even remember about her father and her mother which was quite a shock to everyone but none dared to speak about the past.

By the end of the week as the rain poured down heavily Shansa was meditating when she lost her focus. Then suddenly she heard the sound of the sea. The Flying Dutchmen was near.

"Barbossa" she yelled as she ran towards his room. As two of his guards stopped her she yelled his name louder "Barbossa"

"Is this the time, to wake me up" Barbossa complained as he opened the door.

"The Dutchmen is here" she said.

"What?" Barbossa looked at her in horror. "The lady" he said as he quickly raced towards Athena's room as Shansa and the two guards followed. "Open the door" he commanded as the guards outside Athena's room quickly opened the door and let them in.

The room was dark but some few candles were lighted in and around the room giving a dim light. She was fast asleep on her bed as two of the maids laid asleep on the floor next to her bed. Barbossa quickly went and looked at her, she was sleeping peacefully and her face was glowing in her sleep. He smiled to himself at the beautiful sight.

"She's here" he gave a deep sigh as he looked at Shansa. At that very moment they heard a loud sound below their castle. "The Dutchmen" Shansa looked terrified.

The two maids woke up in horror at the sound and after finding Barbossa, the guards and Shansa inside the room they got more horrified. As for Athena she was still asleep. It was like she didn't even hear a single sound. Then Shansa went towards her and looked down on her "she's dreaming...thank goodness" she exhaled.

"What do you mean?" Barbossa asked.

"When gods or goddess dream, they dream in a state like dead. They won't hear or feel anything until their dream is over. She won't be waking up now" she said.

"Thank god!" Barbossa exhaled.

At that very movement they heard sounds of guards and men quarreling and some were even using their swords. Barbossa quickly left the room and closed the door behind and walked towards the hall where he saw the crew of the Dutchmen.

"What brings you all here?" He questioned.

"You know why I'm here" Will said as he appeared out of the crowd.

"So you can walk on land and so you know the lady is here but I'm afraid to say that, you cannot see her" Barbossa said.

"Don't you dare Barbossa!" Will looked at him.

"But son" Bill grabbed Will's shoulder.

"I know father, that she has no memory of me but I've to see her" Will said.

"I'm afraid. I've to stop you" Barbossa said.

"Let the boy go" jack laughed as he walked into the hall.

"What?" Barbossa looked at jack.

"Let him just go and see her. It doesn't matter, she don't even remember him" jack chuckled.

"But____" before Barbossa could say another word jack said "go Will go"

"Why did you let him go?" Barbossa asked.

"Because we can't stop him. He's the captain of the Dutchmen and no worries she don't remember him" jack smirked.

"That's why I'm sacred. If the boy says anything foolish to her" Barbossa looked at jack.

"He won't. He's William. He would do the right thing" jack smiled.

"I hope so" Barbossa exhaled.
