The secret

Will stood on the deck and looked out at the horizon, he had a mixture of emotions and he didn't know what exactly to feel at the moment. He has a son that he had never seen or heard of in his life, he didn't know the reason why Athena kept him away from his son nor did he knew why, she never told him about their son. Did he really have a son or was Shansa playing tricks with his mind but as Shansa narrated the story he tends to belief her in a way because right after his recovery and the night at that cottage before he became the captain of the Dutchmen Athena left for Bermuda without saying a word.

When he met her at Bermuda a year had passed and since he didn't see her for so long, he never knew she was carrying their son and even gave birth. She didn't tell him anything about their son maybe because there was a reason behind it and soon after she got her immortality back she left for Olympus and never returned maybe she didn't return because she was looking after their child. The child that he never knew.

But she was a goddess, how can she even have a child with a mortal he thought because the thing that happened between them was when Will was a mortal and not the captain of the Dutchmen but then as Shansa said during that period of time Athena was a mortal too and one night could change everything in the life of a mortal. He was almost in tears thinking about what Athena would have gone through and the reason why she never mentioned about their son.

He knew that her father Poseidon nor his brothers Hades or Zeus liked him and maybe they were the reasons why Athena had to keep everything away from him, in order to protect him as she had always protected him from the start. As all these thoughts came through his mind he was at the verge of breaking down as he got more stressed and tensed than he was before.

"Son" Bill called as he came forward and hugged him tightly "it's okay, don't let your heart be troubled" he comforted him.

"Father, I'm more confused than ever. What did I do to deserve this" Will voice cracked.

"You never did anything wrong son. Don't be disheartened" Bill hugged him tighter.

"I've to talk to her, more than ever" Will said with a heavy heart.

"I know son" Bill said.

"Do you belief, she still love me?" Will voice shattered.

"I do son.....I do" Bill smiled.

"Then why did she leave? Why do she always have to leave?" Will asked.

"That I cannot answer my boy but you know, whatever she did or does she always do it for love" Bill looked at Will.

"I know she did so much for me father but my heart is troubled because, there are things she don't share with me and now after the cutler incident my faith is shattering" Will gasped.

"But there's a reason behind every step and every thing she does so keep the faith son, one day you will see her again and you will never be apart and that day is coming soon. Belief me" Bill patted his back.

"Do you really have a son? Don't you think Shansa is playing with your head?" Gibbs looked at Will.

"She better not or I would chop her head off" Will folded his arms "but I belief her in a way because there are many reasons why it must be true and why would Shansa lie to me? She has no reason to lie"

"That makes sense too...what do you think his name would be? Or what will he look like?" Gibbs questioned.

"That I do not know, but he will look like his mother for sure" Will smiled.

"I've never seen you smile like that in a long time. You are happy aren't you?" Gibbs looked at Will.

"I'm Gibbs...I'm who wouldn't be happy to be a father" Will chuckled.

"Well I won't be happy to be a father. I love my bachelor life" Gibbs said.

"You say that, cos no lady is willing to marry you" Bill joked as he walked towards them.

"There are a thousand ladies,begging me to be their husband. If you haven't heard" Gibbs folded his arms.

"Are they called seagulls?" Bill burst out laughing.

"They aren't" Gibbs hissed.

"Enough you both" Will giggled.

"After a long time, I'm seeing that face of yours son" Bill smiled at Will.

"Thats what I was telling him as well..he looks happy" Gibbs said.

"Yes, he does mr seagull. Now let's go back to work" Bill chuckled as he pulled Gibbs and walked away.

Will smiled to himself and looked out at the horizon once more as the sun was setting down the orange and pink sky reminded him of the day he woke up in the cottage where Athena was. The best days of his life were the days he spend with her.
