He's not my prince anymore.

Dimitri..

I have been a vampire for two months, I’m stronger than I was before. I don’t feel emotions anymore, I think it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.

I looked around the room seeing Sage – the vampire that turned me – she was talking to her maker, he looked over and waved me forward, I obeyed. I walked up silently and stood next to Sage, she smiled as she put a hand on my back, and she left the room after that.

“I must say, Sage made a good choice in not killing you young lad,” He chuckled and I sat next to him. “She’s uncontrollable but I love that lass like she’s my own. She tells me you used to work at the castle for the Original Therian’s?”

“Yes, I worked there for two years.” I told him, his eyes widened.

“Hmm, the female did you ever meet her?” He asked, taking a drink of blood out of a fancy wine glass, I nodded slowly. “What’s she like?”

“Strong, stubborn, wild and a bit stupid if I’m honest,” I spat the words out and he flinched. “I am sorry, I just do not want to talk about a mate who cannot stay loyal to me.”

“She’s your mate…” He smiled and handed me a glass of blood, I drank it.  “Well, you’ll make this ten times easier lad.”

“Make what easier?” I asked confused, but he just shook his head.

Nora..

Moving on is hard, but I did it after three months. I finally decided to help my father out by becoming queen and in order to do that I had to attend a ball, letting the Therian’s meet me and become familiar with them.

I was currently getting a corset tightened, I felt like I couldn’t breathe already. I waved her away once she tied it into a bow as requested. My dress was black, the corset had a one single frill along the top of it, and I puffed out the skirt and slipped some casual black heels on.

And then I was whisked into a chair, my hair was taken out of the curls and it fell down my back. Another young maid, who was around my age starting doing my makeup, she spoke to me trying to calm my nerves even though I hadn’t told her.

She was a witch I knew as soon as she started talking about my nerves, no one knew I was nervous. She winked at me as she got dressed for the party as well, she was attending this was something new.

Walking into the ballroom, I felt all eyes on me. I saw the witch again, she smiled and nodded. I returned the nod, while walking to my throne. I sat in my throne, and was to meet everyone who came to my ball.

I don’t know what it was, but I felt like something odd was happening. The witch took a seat next to me, she was my witch  seemly, and every royalty person has a witch. That I did not know of, she made funny jokes about people and I laughed.

I got along well with Katarina and it looked like she got along with me.

Much later on in the night, once I had introduced myself to everyone Katarina stole me away from the ballroom, I couldn’t have thanked her enough. We were wandering the garden when she pulled out what looked like a joint.

“Relax Nik, it’s just something to calm us down.” She pulled me on to the stone seat and I laughed. I told her I hated Nora, so she calls me Nik. I quite like it if I do say so myself.

She passed it too me, and I took a draw of whatever this thing is, it made me relax instantly. “Whoa, that’s some good shit.” I whispered.

“I know, I figured out how  to do it when I was younger. Sell  this to humans and they want more, the next time. Plus, it’s totally safe, herbs and spices infused together and a little spell,” She told me, and she looked behind her. “Let’s go inside, now.”

She grabbed my hand making me run, I turned to look behind me and there on the wall, I saw him. He stood staring at me, my breathing picked up as I wanted to run to him but another part of me wanted to stay as far as possible from him.

I didn’t have time to come to a conclusion of what to do, because the screaming started. Katarina pulled me into her and muttered something, my eyes never left his, he looked different, oh so different.

“Nora,” My father screamed, Katarina was pushed to my father while I fell to the ground. “What’s wrong with her?”

“Him, he can’t be here.” I heard Katarina mutter as I lost all strength in my body, I tried to push myself up but I couldn’t, it was impossible.

“Sir, the vampires are in the castle. We need to evacuate right now.” Simon’s voice filled my eyes.

“Simon, there…” I screamed, he looked over. He saw Dimitri too, I wasn’t going to crazy. “We have to help him.”

“There is no help for vampires Nora, he made his choice that’s one he has to live with forever.” Simon whispered to me, picking me up. I looked over, to him.

For the first time in two years, tears ran down my face. Soon enough, Dimitri’s green eyes were staring in mine, I hadn’t realized how much I missed them. I let the tears fall freely, I grabbed his arm and he frowned but didn’t break his gaze.

“What happened to you, Nora?” He asked me.

“I was finally broken, by you.” I said, and I was ripped away from him.

Wolves surrounded him, I gasped pushing past them. I couldn’t make it to him on time, I growled and shifted. They backed down immediately, I held  my ground as they shifted back into their human forms.

“She still loves him,” My mother gasped, wiping tears away from her face. “Even though the bond is broken, she loves him like she did before.”

“Nora, shift back this instant.” My father voiced made every head turn to me.

The first female Original protecting her vampire mate. How screwed up is that?

I turned to look at Dimitri, he kept his mouth in a straight line and I felt Katarina sit next to me. “If you are going to protect him, I’m always with you.”

“Aw, isn’t this sweet?” Another male voice said from behind my father. I snarled, getting ready to pounce, “Dimitri tell your bitch to shut her mouth… Please.”

Dimitri moved away from me and over the man, they started whispering but no one was focusing on them. Nope, I was the main thing they were focusing on.

I heard another scream, my mothers. I raced over to her, as the man killed SJ. I stopped in my tracks. I looked to Dimitri who still showed me no emotion, I growled before pouncing onto this vampire.

He was strong, maybe just a bit stronger than I am but he wasn’t fuelled with pain right now, I was. I bit into his arm, he flung me into one of the castle walls, I whined with pain yet I managed to shift and get up.

“You are really going to be dead now.” I warned, before ripping my skirt off and revealing  shorts, I felt better with them on underneath the skirt.

I raced towards him, he grabbed my throat choking me. “Who wants to save this pretty thing?”

I looked around and my gaze happened to fall on Dimitri, he wasn’t the one to save me. Katarina was, with  a flick of her wrist the vampire was down and I was standing by her side.

I thought all hell broke loose when I saw Dimitri standing on the wall, I was wrong. All hell broke loose as more vampires made themselves visible. All in all, I think it’s fair to say we’re screwed.
