Once Michael had managed to peel Jade off of Angel, she was left laying on the cold floor with the hospital's glaring lights shining in her eyes. Sam held his hand out towards her so he could help her stand, but she regarded his pink flesh with disdain, and proceeded to pick herself up from the floor instead. She felt embarrassed enough already. Before she could take in what had happened, Angel was rushed to an examination room. A nurse with chubby cheeks and wild ginger hair gave her a few stitches, and then handed her over to a portly midwife for an ultrasound. The baby was fine. The sound of it's steady heart beat filled the room, and caused Angel's own heart to stop. She wondered how something so small could sound so strong. The midwife began talking to Angel about her options, but she was too consumed by her thoughts to pay attention. She couldn't believe so much had gone on in such a short space of time.

It had only been a few hours since Angel found out she was pregnant. She realised she missed her period and immediately began to panic. A baby, what the fuck was she going to do with a baby? She eventually plucked up the courage to go to the local supermarket and buy three pregnancy tests. She prayed for a different outcome after taking each one, but they all said the same thing.

Pregnant

Angel wondered if she should have an abortion. But this wasn't just her baby, so she didn't want to make that decision on her own. She looked in the mirror, running her finger along the bumpy stitches in her lip, and tried to remember when they might have slipped up. When they fucked in the shower? In his car? Not that it mattered, she was pregnant and that wasn't going to change.

The midwife let Angel go and as she navigated her way through a maze of abandoned stretchers, blue uniforms and beeping monitors, her mind was filled with thoughts of James. She couldn't believe that he was in the hospital possibly taking his last breaths. Angel had only wanted to show James how hard she was willing to go for him. She believed that once he knew that he would want to be with her. But she hadn't shown him anything, all she had managed to do was hurt him. Her eyes quickly filled with tears, and she fought hard to stop them from falling. She sniffed hard like a coke addict with a couple of lines, and constantly rubbed her eyes in an effort to erase her tears.

A boy from Angel's college was recently stabbed at a house party, he had been mistaken for someone else. When he was stabbed it was with apathy, yet it still killed him. So Angel wondered what hope there was for James, when tp was sure to have stabbed him with the upmost force and contempt. Angel had experienced death once before and it left a hollow space in her heart. She didn't think life without her father was possible, but it was. And all that was left of him now were a collection of hazy memories. Angel didn't want that to be the case with James, especially when her last memory of him wasn't a good one.

...
Once Angel left Chinasa's she decided to  finally address the onslaught of messages and missed calls she had. James was her default preference so she naturally wanted to call him, but she had to handle business.

"I've been calling you for time, what the fuck?" Shaquan complained down the phone.

Angel ignored his tone and spoke with excitement. She was practically salivating over the fact that her plan was almost complete. "Did you get it done?"

"Yeah I did my ting."

"I wanna see it." She had been plotting for so long and it seemed as though things were finally falling into place.

"Come mine then."

Angel sat in the passanger seat of Shaq's car which was parked right outside his house. He sat beside her wearing the jet black robe he threw on after climbing out the shower not too long ago. A few beads of swear settled on his chest making his pale brown skin glisten and he smelt deliciously fresh. He noticed that Angel kept stealing glances at him, and concluded that she approved of his new trim. Shaquan's hand disappeared under his seat for a second, and when it reappeared it was carrying a 44 magnum contained in a blue plastic bag. He handed it to Angel, who wrapped her hand around the grip and instantly felt powerful. This could end a life, she thought. And it had.
