Guys I'm sorry it took me so long to upload, as much as I love writing it's a difficult process for me. I struggle to get what is in my head onto the page. But for anyone that is still reading thank you so much for sticking with me it means the world ❤️Quick recap: James and Jade's older brother Kai has been wrongly imprisoned for the murder of a boy called Akelle. A guy called TP is the one who really killed him and Angel comes up with a plan to get Kai out of prison and win James' love. The plan involves Shaquan stealing the gun, seducing Nawal and convincing her to hand the gun in to the police so they can identify Tp's prints and arrest him. But Tp thinks James is the one that stole the gun and stabs him. After finding out what's happened to James, Jade blames Angel and invites everyone to a cafe to expose her. Back at the hospital during surgery James' heart has stopped beating.
One thing that everyone knows about Shaquan is that he doesn't have a type. Black or white. Short or tall. He's had a taste of everything. He's been with Instagram models and video vixens. High maintenance princesses, tom boys and hood chicks. Chunky girls with bodies that jiggle whenever they move, and girls so tiny that he could pick them up and throw them across a room if he wanted to. But out of the many girls that Shaquan has been with, there hasn't been a single one that competes with Angel.
For Shaquan Angel is like a work of fine art. Every inch of her face is perfectly mapped out. Her eyebrows are just the right amount of bushy, the freckles that stretch across the planes of her face mirror a glittering constellation. And her eyes are like two hypnotising pots of thick honey. It's as if she is the centre piece of a revered painting hanging in the Louvré or an ancient sculpture basking in the Grecian sun. But she isn't just a pretty face. No one commands attention like Angel, wherever she goes a thousand eyes follow. Her energy is intoxicating and she has the ability to switch from seductress to villainess within second. What Shaquan admires most about Angel is her fearlessness. She is tougher than any of the mandem and there isn't a thing in the world that she wants and won't fight for.
Back when they were a couple Shaquan would sometimes watch Angel complete the simplest of tasks like eating cereal or watching tv, and he'd be mesmerised. Angel would feel the weight of his loving gaze brush against her skin but refuse to acknowledge it. She'd simply continue whatever she was doing with a silent smugness that said 'I own you.' That was one of many signs that Angel did not truly love Shaquan, those signs were tucked away in every corner of the relationship like dust in an old building. But Shaquan was so blinded by love that he couldn't see things for what they really were, so when Angel dumped him he hadn't seen it coming.
It was half term and the couple had spent majority of their time away from school lounging in Angel's bed. Rain thrashed against the windows and fumes from a seasonal Yankee candle wafted in the air as Shaquan ran his fingers through Angel's hair. He'd been contemplating telling her he loved her when she turned to him and said that things didn't feel the same, that they'd be better off as friends. She spoke so casually yet her words cut through him like a blade.
They still saw each other everyday at school but once they went to different sixth forms there wasn't anything Shaquan could do to keep Angel in his life. He occasionally ran into her at parties or during his commute but the Angel Shaquan saw in those moments wasn't the girl he used to curl up in bed with on rainy days. This Angel was his girlfriend's ghost. She didn't laugh violently at his jokes or stroke his head lovingly until he drifted off to sleep. She made small talk and smiled politely. And Shaquan used banter and his mischievous smile to hide the fact that he was battling with how badly he still wanted to be with her.
When Angel called Shaquan out of the blue to get him on board with her plan, he was surprised but pleased. He slid out from under the arm of the semi-naked girl sleeping next to him and took the call in her bathroom. Angel's voice massaged his ear drums and sunk into his bloodstream like a class A drug. One small hit of her attention was all that it took for him to agree to take part in her plan. He desperately wanted to drown in the depths of Angel's affection again and was willing to do just about anything to make that happen.
