Chapter 7

He gulps down the rest of his water. I watch as his Adam's apple bobs up and down with every swallow.

Jade!

"Okay so you ready to get started?" He asked me. I am taken aback by his enthusiasm to start.

"I'm ready when you are." It comes out a bit more nervous than I had intended. I pull out the paper with the directions on it and the book.

"Okay so have you read this book before?" I ask.

"Yeah, actually I have. It's one of the classics. As you could probably tell, I'm a big reader." He gestures towards the bookshelf. I smile and he smiles back.

"Okay so how do you want to read? I could read a chapter and you could read and then so on." I say.

"Okay we can do that." He says.

"I'll read first." I start to read and he moves to the bed next to me. His scent takes over me. he smells of mint and spray paint. His scent suits his personality. At least what I've seen of his personality.

"Jade!" He says. I hadn't noticed that I was just sitting there staring at him.

"Oh uh sorry. I guess I got distracted." I continue reading, feeling very embarrassed. Zayn gives me small glances as I continue reading. He wears a small smirk on his features.

We trade off reading chapters until chapter 6. He brings the book to his work desk and reaches into one of the drawers and pulls out a bookmark. He puts the bookmark in the beginning of chapter 7. The bookmark has his name spray painted on it. It smells just like him. It's absolutely lovely.

When we finish, it's almost 7:15 pm. I start to pack up my things.

"I think I'm going to go." I say.

"Oh okay. Yeah it's getting late." He gets up and reaches into the other drawer in his desk. He pulls out a pack of mint gum.

"Want any?" He offers.

"Um sure, thanks." I say. He tosses me a piece. The gum is wrapped in green paper that's perfectly folded. I examine the paper before opening it.

Stop!

(* If any of you guys are wondering why she keeps telling herself to stop being so observant, you'll find out later in the story. A lot of secrets have not been revealed so yeah just bear with me if you're confused. *)

I open the wrapper and put the gum in my mouth. I chew it slowly as Zayn and I walk downstairs together. I call my mom to come and pick me up. We wait for my mom to come and pick my up in the living room.

I soon hear a loud honk come from outside.

"I think she's here. Thanks for having me." I say as I walk out the door.

"My pleasure." He says as he stands in the doorway.

I get in my mom's car and we drive away.

When I get home, I go straight up stairs to take a shower. I take my shower and lay in my bed. I'm not tired I just feel like relaxing and laying down in bed. I turn my tv on and begin to flip through the channels. After 30 minutes of watching mindless tv shows, I decide to text Jules.
