Chapter 13
I wake up to the familiar and annoying sound off my obnoxious alarm. I swipe my finger across the screen to turn it off and get up. I yawn, stretch, and walk into the hallway to go take my shower.
When I finish taking my shower, I rush back into my room and turn on the heat. I dry off and put my moisturizer on. After I put my underwear on, I stand in front of my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. It's supposed to get at least 80 degrees out today and in England, that's pretty hot. I decide to go with some mint high waisted shorts, a black floral print muscle tank, and some white low-top converse. For my hair, I just pull it into a high ponytail with a little side bang and curl the ends of the ponytail and the bang. I put in a white floral print headband with a bow and some mascara. I swipe a bit of lip gloss on, too.
I take one last look at myself in the full-length mirror on my door before grabbing my bag and walking downstairs. My mum isn't up yet so I just grab a breakfast bar and head out the door.
When I get to the park, I see Nate and I grin widely. I run up to him and we hug. He spins me around and I smile into his shoulder. He puts me down and I look up at him. I smile even wider and he smiles, too.
"Hey." He snaps out of the silent gaze that we held and responds.
"Hey babe." I giggle at his choice if words again and then we both start laughing our heads off. I love how well we get along. I'm actually glad that we waited to date. It makes it that much better. We actually know each other well enough to maximize that level of love for each other.
"How was your morning?" He responds and I listen closely.
"It was fine. How was yours?" I tell him about how hard it was trying to find out what to wear and everything.
"Are you wearing makeup?" My cheeks turn as red as a ruby and nod slowly. I stare at the ground and try to dodge his stare.
He puts his index finger on my chin so I have to look at him. My eyes dart away and that's when he speaks.
"Hey, look at me. I like it. I mean, you don't need it, but I like it. I really do." I stare back at him now, amazed that he liked it. I smile and he takes his finger off of my chin.
"You do?" His eyes sparkle as he looks at me.
"Yeah I do, a lot actually." I thank him and he thanks me back. We walk to school after. It seems like we've spent the whole day here, but it's only been about 5 minutes.
When we get to school, the bell rings and we walk to class together. The whole world seems as if it revolves around just us two, no one else.
Class begins and I have to sit and listen to my home room teacher for the rest of the day. While listening to the morning's daily bulletin, I spot Zayn out of the corner of my eye. I shoot him a smile and a wave and he just stares ahead at the screen. That's weird. Not just weird, but rude. Massively rude. I know he saw me, hell he looked at me for a split second before turning his eyes back to the screen!
Let me just this about this before I get completely angry. Maybe he just isn't feeling well today. Maybe he just somehow didn't see me. Maybe I'm imagining this and he didn't really see me. All these 'what if's' sound ridiculous. I know for a fact that he saw me. Well that just means that he ignored me.
This very fact bothers me to the point that I think I might cry. Why would he ignore me? What did I ever do to him? All these questions can't be answer by anyone but him. You should just give him a taste of his own medicine, says my subconscious. This time, I'll take her advice. For the rest of the day I'm quite and upset.
