AN:

I was supposed to have this chapter up a few weeks ago, but it kept getting deleted and I lost all my patience and had to take a break for like a day or so. I've really been into Fall Out Boy (Pete is so freaking cute omg) and Panic! At the Disco lately. It's an actual obsession. Anyway, let's get on with chapter 24!

Chapter 24

"What do you mean?"

Zayn tells me everything. Everything that he can remember about his life he spills out to me. When he was 9 he asked his first crush to play with him on the playground and at the time he thought he had a girlfriend. He explained why he never opened up to anyone about himself. Everything that happened between his mum and dad when he was younger and why the were even divorced.

All the time while he's talking, all I can do is just listen and look. I didn't expect him to open up like that. Maybe this is what a real relationship is supposed to be like. Out in the open. No secrets kept inside, just real love that's genuine and raw.

"Zayn..."

"Don't do that."

"Do what?"

"Comfort me. I can't be comforted by someone that doesn't love me the way that I love them. It hurts too much."

"Zayn I do love you I just..."

"Don't forgive me. You don't forgive me."

I sigh and we just look in different directions.

"Can we start over?"

"What do you mean?"

"We could just start over you know. Like, take things slow and get to know each other all over again. I think it could be nice. It gives us a chance to start over and do things right."

"Yeah, yeah we should. I like that."

We smile at each other and then his mum comes home from the market.

Once we finish eating dinner, Tricia drives me to my house.

The next morning...

Today is the last day of school and I'm not sure whether I'm excited or not. I'm excited because that means that summer is near and I'm not because I don't know whether I'll see any of these people ever again. It's bittersweet, really.

Once I'm dressed and done eating breakfast, I brush my teeth, grab my backpack and head out the door. At school, I see Zayn and he's with his friends. When he sees me, he walks over to me and smiles.

"Hey."

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm good, how about yourself?"

"I'm okay."

"Are you excited about school being over?"

I can tell that he's trying to keep things simple and not act too complicated. When he walked over to me he almost gave me a hug and then just waved instead. I'm glad he took what I said seriously. I know he's blaming himself for what happened between us.

"Sort of. I can't believe that 10th year is over. We only have 2 years left before we're done with high school. Crazy isn't it?"

"Yes I know. You look nice today."

As soon as he says it, his facial expressions say that he wish he could take it back.

"I'm sorry. I forgot that we were starting over. Sorry Jade."
