Chapter 17
He is taken aback by the kiss at first but then he finally leans into it. So many emotions are lifted off of my shoulders as we kiss. Somehow it makes everything better.
His lips are as soft as brand new silk and as plump as warm crumb cake. The sweet aroma of mint gum and his cologne entice me as he brings his hand up to my face and cups my cheek.
The kiss lasts for a few more seconds and then we pull apart. He let's go of my cheek and we stare at each other. His eyes are so innocent and beautiful. The rich brownish greenish of them have lighten up so they look almost yellow. He smiles in a way that is a kind if smirk but also a smile at the same time. This action makes me blush and I put my head down and smile in the weird way that I do.
I lift my head up and speak finally for the first time since before the kiss.
"I'm-I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."
"It's okay." I look up at him and we both blush.
"No I'm serious. That was really sudden and I'm sorry."
"And I'm serious when I say that it was okay."
"Okay."
"Okay." We kind of smile at each other for a few minutes before I just hug him. He hugs me back and I feel safe again. Like nothing even happened tonight.

The next day I wake up in a bed that I first assume is the guest bed, but soon realize is Zayn's. I try to get up but the blanket won't budge on my right side. I look next to me and I see Zayn laying next to me on top of the blanket, asleep. I don't even remember getting in bed, nor Zayn sleeping next to me. I lay back down and snuggle under him and he turns his head to look at me and smiles then turns back around.
I wake up later that morning and Zayn is gone. I get out of bed and head downstairs. While walking downstairs I look at the time on my phone and nearly trip when I find out it's almost 11:00 am. I walk into the kitchen and don't see anyone and it's the same thing for the living room and his mum's bedroom. I come to the conclusion that his mum' sat work and Zayn is obviously at school. I'm at Zayn's house all by myself.
I decide to call my mum. I'm surprised that she hasn't called or texted or left any voicemails. She probably has already talked to Zayn's mum. I dial her number and she picks up.
"Hey honey."
"Hey mum."
After a few minutes of talking my guess is confirmed when she tells me that she already has spoken to Zayn's mum.
"...but you need to come home tonight."
"Yeah I was planning on it haha."
"Good bc I've got some great news."
"What kind of news?"
"You'll find out when you get home love."
"Okay bye mum."
"Bye sweetheart. Love you."
"Love you, too."
I hang up and let out a loud sigh. I have nothing to do for about 4 hours. I suppose I could start by making me some brunch.
I go into the kitchen and I'm amazed. I think I remember him telling me that they redesigned their kitchen and it looks amazing. Everything is silver and looks remarkably elegant. The thing that makes it even better is that the cabinets are this honey golden brown and so are the floors and it makes everything look elegant yet cozy at the same time. The whole kitchen is marvelous.
