Jack's P.O.V.

"THAT IS FUCKING BULL SHIT!!" I was furious, my anger to the extreme after Mark told me about his stupid parent's decision.

"THIS IS JUST FUCKING RIDICULOUS! WHY CAN'T YOU GET MARRIED TO WHO EVER YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT! FUCK THAT ROYAL DECREE!!" I was on full on rage mode, until I heard something that made me stop. Mark was grabbing him stomache in laughter, his face squished in the cutest way possible. I smiled, my anger boiling down in seconds as his laughter filled my ears.

"What, is it funny to see your boyfriend pissed?" I question him, and he took a minute to catch his breath.

"Actually, yes!" He chuckled and I couldn't help but chuckle as well.

"I really needed that..." he said as I pulled myself back onto shore, seeing as my anger pulled me into the water.

"What? My yelling, or a good laugh?" I joked, to which Mark yet again let out a mini laugh.

"Both, honestly. No one gets me in the castle, all the servants think my issues are petty, and my parents are the ones giving me issues. Only Tim is my true friend there, and he can't talk. But it's nice to have someone who gets me." Mark rambled, looking up at the darkening sky.

"Ya, I get that. I mean, my parents haven't forced me into a marriage... yet... but they still do shit that I hate and gets on my nerves." I replied, leaning my head on Mark's shoulder in the process. He then moved his hand closer to mine and laced our fingers together. We sat there in silence, as stars started to appear in the sky and the last colors of red had disappeared.

"Jack... could we just... run away together? We could leave this place, and go to a nice little clearing and make a little home. I know the perfect spot-" I suddenly cut Mark off from his speech, lifting my head off his shoulder.

"Woah, Mark slow down! I mean, yes, that sounds amazing, but we have some issues with that.." I gestured to my tail "And besides, we can't just up and leave, we have things that need to be taken care of." I finished as I looked into his eyes.

"We can make it work! Please, Jack, I can't live like this anymore, I can't live apart from you-"Mark paused for a moment and I took the chance to speak.

"Mark, you... you aren't thinking straight. We can't do that. Calm down and think! I can't leave the ocean, I would suffer, even if I was with you. Mermen aren't made to be on land. And you can't just leave your kingdom behind without an heir! My sister is going to take the throne anyway, but you are the only heir!"I finished, to which, Mark looked away from me and down at the water. 

"I... I don't... I don't care. Jack, I don't care if there is no heir, that is my parent's problem! All I care about is you and me! We could leave tonight I don't have Tim so no one will suspect anything We can-"

"MARK EDWARD FISCHBACH. You listen closely. We are NOT leaving the world behind tonight, and you are NOT GIVING UP ON YOUR KINGDOM!" I snapped, yelling at Mark and restraining myself from slapping him. Mark blinked a few times and started to tear up, realizing what he was saying.

"Mark... I love you. And running away with you sounds like a dream come true. But we can't. You can't leave your people behind Mark, you were taught this at an early age. You love them and it would be against everything the both of us have ever known to just disappear." I quietly finished, and Mark pulled me into a hug.

"Jack... I'm scared. I'm scared I'm going to lose you. I don't want to choose a woman to be with when all I want is you. I just want to choose you!" Mark cried out, and I felt a tear slip out at his words.

"Deep breaths Mark, you have been through a lot today, your emotions have been going crazy. We can get through this, but first, we need to calm you down and not overreact. We will be together, I promise." I rubbed circles on his back as he slowly calmed down before we curled up together and fell asleep looking at the stars.

Mark's P.O.V.

I woke up in the small cove, with Jack sleeping soundly next to me. I let out a sigh, feeling much better than I did yesterday. After I told Jack what had happened, my fate started to sink into my mind and I just started panicking. I sat up, stretching my arms and letting out a yawn. I turned over to lay down on my stomache, and I looked at Jack's adorable sleeping face.

"Who is the cutest boyfriend? You are!" I chuckled out, moving one of my hands out to play with his green hair. 

"Awe, I'm sure you are cuter!" I freaked out as Jack replied to my comment, opening his eyes with a mischievous grin. 

"Oh my god Jack! Don't scare me like that!" I playfully slapped him, letting out a small chuckle. 

"God, the ground is not good on your back. I'm going to have pains for a solid week!" Jack groaned sitting up rubbing his back as if it was injured. 

"No, my back will be hurting, yours will be fine because Ira will give you something for it." I replied ass I stood up, stretching out my back a little. 

"If you want, I could bring you some of the weird colored potion tomorrow?" he questioned as he tried to move his dry tail over the ground to the water. I quickly lifted him up bridal style, to which his face turned a bright red. 

"Nah, I'm good... sweetie!" I pulled Jack closer and leaned my head in to give him a kiss, and he happily leaned in as well. 

"But, I 'm afraid that is all, for now, my dear for I need to get back to the castle and deal with petty females." I broke the kiss and spoke before I quickly dropped Jack into the water below.

"Oh, FUCK YOU!" He swam back up to the surface and yelled at me, to which I let out a small laugh.

'Hey, you needed a wakeup call!" I replied before squatting down and leaning in for a final kiss. 

"Take it easy today Markimoo, alright? Don't have another breakdown today, you know I worry..." Jack smiled up at before he leaned in for yet another kiss.

"Okay now, I really gotta go, we can make out later! I love you." I said goodbye before I stood up and turned to leave the cove.

"I love you too!" Jack called after me as I walked back into the real world.
