~Butterflies~ (Joshua x Fem!Reader)

Today was like any other day, hanging out with your friends Vernon, Jeonghan, and Mingyu. They just so happened to bring their friend Joshua along too. They know all too well that you actually have a crush on Joshua. Whenever he was around, they would subtly tease you about him to make you blush. The one who teased you the most? Vernon. He would even nudge you in his direction some times. You were always able to stop yourself from bumping into him and made up the excuse that you were just clumsy. Every time you hang out with them and Joshua, you would sometimes catch him staring at you. He would also catch you staring at him. They would always tease you and even him at points if they caught him staring at you. 

Today was going to be different though, you were finally going to confess to him. You finally go tired of trying to hide it, so you decided that this would be the day that you tell him. You were waiting for them at your usual spot, outside the store near your house. You made yourself look JUST a little better than usual. You were pacing back and forth trying to think of SOME sort of way to confess. 

"Hey Josh, can I tell you something?... no that sounds to straight forward, and I can't do straight forward... I'd get too scared to do that. Hiya Joshua!... too excited. What's up?... no... I gotta think of something to say quick, they'll be here soon," you kept trying to think of things to say, but little to your knowledge, the boys were already on their way, and they were close. They could nearly hear what you were saying. 

"Hey, she's saying something," Jeonghan said to the others, being the furthest ahead. 

"I wonder what she's saying," said Mingyu, straining to hear you from the back of the group. 

"I bet she's talking about Joshua," Vernon teased. 

"She's probably thinking of things to do while we hang out," Joshua said, trying to hide the fact that he was a little nervous and flustered to see you. 

"I'll go ahead and listen in if you want," Vernon said leaning in closer to Jeonghan.

"I can't stop you from doing it anyways... can I?" Jeonghan asked. looking at Vernon.

"Nope!" he said and started walking a little faster to hear you. The others ended up joining him to keep him out of trouble, but ended up hearing you as well.

"Alright.... I think I've got it..." you said out loud to yourself, "Hey Joshua, I wanted to tell you something... you know how I sometimes get clumsy or blush because of something the others say to me?... It's actually them teasing me about you because... I-I like you, a lot. Please don't think I'm weird or anything but, I was wondering if you felt the same way about me and if you would think about maybe being my-," someone cut you off.

"Boyfrind?" they asked in a gentle, familiar sounding voice. You gasped and turned to see Joshua, since the others pushed him to the front of the group. 

"J-Joshua," you blushed and looked at your feet shyly, getting butterflies in your stomach, "how much did you hear?" 

"A lot of it... ok, maybe all of it. Once the others heard you say my name they pushed me to the front and told me to listen since you were talking about me," he looked down shyly, a faint blush appeared on his cheeks, and he looked down as well.

"So... what do you say?" you asked and looked up a little. He gained some courage and walked a little closer to you. 

"I like you too... and I wouldn't mind being your boyfriend," your eyes met.

"So... does that mean... you will be?" you asked him, your voice was quiet and weak. 

"Yeah," Joshua began to smile a little, and you did too.

"It's about time you two got together!" Vernon called to you two after getting everyone to back up a bit, but still close enough to hear them. 

"Looks like little (Y/N)got her first boyfriend!" Mingyu shouted.

"I'm your first boyfriend?" Joshua looked at you, you nodded, "Thanks for picking me to be your first boyfriend over everyone else. 

"No problem, now what do you say we chase after Vernon and Mingyu?" you asked and he nodded, the two of you took after them. Jeonghan, who was being smart, stepped back and let you two run by him. He eventually headed after all four of you to make sure you stayed out of trouble. You yelled for Mingyu and Vernon but they never slowed down and only looked back, laughing a little. You and Joshua eventually caught up to them, Jeonghan not too long after. For the rest of the day, the butterflies in your stomach fluttered about, feeling like you could burst at any minute. I guess that's what happens when you get your first boyfriend.
