I wake up bright and early. Today I'm going for another adventure with the Doctor; but this time, Cairo is coming. I'm quite nervous, because I like Cairo, but I want to celebrate my time With the Doctor, oh well.
I hear the TARDIS appearing and the Doctor jumps out. "Told you I'd be here on time, Alice!" Smiles the Doctor, weakly.
"There's definitely something wrong with you doc!
1) you're here really early and you're never early.
2) you called me Alice and I know there's something wrong when you don't call me Cooke!
3) you're forcing a smile, normally you're super happy!" I exclaim, looking into his eyes, trying to spot a fault.
"I'm fine." He says bluntly.
"No. you're not! How did it go with river?"
"Fine."
"Aha! Gotcha, it didn't, did it? Have you fallen out with your wife?"
"No. it's complicated!" He whines.
"Oh shut up everyone says that. At least she's still alive!" I end up shouting, quickly covering my mouth and fighting back my tears, I can't take my grief out on the Doctor; he's practically been my guardian angel!
The Doctor looks really hurt and walks back into the TARDIS, leaving the door open."I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to come out, I just miss George and Amy. Like always, and I'm devastated about your regeneration! I'm trying to battle all of the grief still whilst dealing with you changing. Don't change!" I say, quietly.
"Alice, its ok! I understand your grief. But I'm the Doctor, I've seen more people die than anyone else in the universe, I've watched people die when I could've saved them. I've killed people. I've saved them. All in different bodies, different personalities, now it's time for eleven to change, I'm still me, Cooke.""Shall we go get Cai?" I laugh.
"Yeah! Geronimo!" The Doctor says normally, pulling the lever whilst looking over at me.
"I still can't get over this spaceship!" Marvels Cai, wandering round the control room.
"What else is there?" He asks.
"A pool." I reply.
"And?"
"A library."
"And?"
"Bedrooms."
"Wow! Sick!" The Doctor laughs and I turn to him. "So, where are we off to, Doc?"
"It's up to Cairo..."
"The past or future."
"Let's go to the future." I confirm the decision and the Doctor sets off the TARDIS.
