I was now in the interrogation room at the police station with the girl. I sat at a long table while the girl was sitting at the other side of it. Velro was at the back of the room leaning against the wall. "Okay, now that you've decided to negotiate with us, are you willing to answer any questions we have?" I asked. "Yes" the girl whispered. "Okay first off what's your name?" I asked. "Christa, but my other side goes by Crimson" she said. Other side? Didn't those papers we found in that factory say something about two personalities? I thought.
"So you're basically two people in one?" I asked her. She nodded "It's always been that way for me" she answred. "How do we know the difference between you and Crimson?" Velro asked. Christa pointed at her eye "whenever my eyes are red it's Crimson, but when it's blue it's me Christa" she said. "Oh so the whole time I was fighting Crimson?" I asked. Christa nodded "sorry she can be a bit..... Impulsive" she apologized. "It's fine, when I first came to the ministry I caused a bit of damage myself" I said. Christa smiled "good to know I wasn't the only one" she said.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Velro went over and opened it revealing one if the guards. "Here are the clothes you requested for the girl Toby" he said as he walked in. "Thanks that'll be all for now" I told him as he set the clothes on the table for the Christa. "Oh and one more thing" the guard said "Derek has come to see you, he says he has something important to talk to you about". I raised an eyebrow "do you know what it is?" I asked.
The guard shrugged his shoulders "beats me, he said only you should be the one to hear about it". I sighed, all I wanted to do was go home and sleep. But no, I woke up having to fight and now Derek had news for me. "Thanks tell him I'm coming now" I ordered. The man nodded and walked out of the room. I stood up and looked at Christa "you're coming with me" I told her. "What?" Velro said in surprise, "why can't she stay here?". I turned to Velro "she's unstable, the last thing I want is for Crimson to pop out and level the ministry while I'm gone" I explained.
"No way a little girl can destroy the whole ministry" Velro said. "Think about it man, you guys had no way of stopping her before I showed up" I countered. Velro opened his mouth to say something but stopped at the realization that I was right. I then turned back at Christa "and if Crimson slips up even a little, I will not hesitate to kill you" I bluffed. Christa looked terrified and nodded her head. "Good, now hurry and put those clothes on while me and Velro wait outside for you, we got company so don't take to long".
After about a minute me Christa and Velro made our way to the entrance of the ministry. Ever since Majestas attack on the ministry we had a large wall built around the ministry. The cast a magic teleportation spell around the sky putting us in a dome of protection. If any unwanted guest tried to get in they'd be torn to pieces by our shield. When we got to the main entrance of the wall Derek was there with a few of his own guards with him.
Derek wore an all black over coat with black boots, long dark pants, and a black shirt. His guards wore leather jackets and leather pants despite the heat. "Derek!" I yelled to get his attention. Derek looked at me and smiled "Toby!" He yelled back. We then approached each other and gave one another a firm handshake. "Long time no see" Derek said. "What are you taking about, last time we saw each other was at my daughters baby shower" I said. "Oh yeah, how's Sandra doing?" He asked. "She's fine, she's at the house with my butler" I exclaimed.
"Toby, you know I don't trust that butler not one bit" he said. "I know but George is a good guy, there's no reason not to trust him". Derek just shrugged "okay, don't say I didn't warn you when the baby comes out looking like him" he joked. We both laughed for a good minute. Derek then looked over and noticed Christa. "So who's this?" He asked, I looked at Christa then back at Derek "her names Christa, for now" I answerd. Derek looked confused "what do you mean for now?" He asked. "Don't worry about it I'll tell you later, you said you had something important to tell me" I said.
Derek nodded, his expression became serious. "Yes, Toby have you ever heard of a Relic?" He asked. I put my hand on my chin and thought for a second. "Yes I've read about it, they say it's a weapon more powerful then the balancer itself. But its existence is a myth" I answred. Derek shook his head "it's no myth, I was on a mission hunting down Ken because he was in my territory killing my soilders" Derek explained. "Wait Ken is still around?" I asked in shock.
Derek nodded "sightings of a large man like creature terrorizing citys in my territory have flodded the nearby states. It had to be Ken so I went out searching for him, but instead I found Carnage". I gasped in shock once again "impossible, I was fighting Carnage last night" I said. Derek just shrugged "hey man, I'm telling it like it is. Carnage was in the swamps of my territory. We fought for awhile until he kicked me off this cliff. I was okay from the impact but when I got up I noticed I fell into some kind of abandoned temple.
After a bit of looking around I found the Relic in this large room" he explained. "Whoa how do you know it's real?" I asked. Derek looked me in the eyes "Toby, the moment you touch the thing you will feel power beyond your wildest dreams" he said. From the way Derek looked I could tell he was being truthful. "Where's the Relic now?" I asked. "It's at my place, would you like to come see it?" He asked. I nodded then looked back at Velro who was in his own conversation with a few of Dereks guards.
"So are you guys hot in those suits?" Velro asked them. "Nope, Derek trains our minds to ignore extreme temperature" one of them answered. "Fascinating" Velro said in amazement. "Hey Velro, me and Christa are going to Dereks territory. You're in charge while I'm gone okay" I said. Velro nodded "no problem Toby" he said. I then looked back at Derek "alright let's get going" I told him.
