THE GUARDIAN 2

CHAPTER 21: A NEW BEGINNING

It's been 2 weeks since the defeat of Majesta. The Ministry was being rebuilt and was expected to be twice the size it used to be. Although many people that had evacuated weren't coming back. I was now rushing down the hall of the hospital. Sweat dripped from my forehead and I felt butterflys. As I rushed forward a short chubby doctor walked in my path causing me to bump into her. "Sorry!" I yelled as I continued down the hall. Dang it why are there so much people in the halls, don't they have any other place to be I thought.

I finally made it to the room I was looking for. Christa and Velro were standing outside the door waiting for me. "Did it happen yet!?" I asked gasping for air. "No but I'd hurry if I were you" Velro said. I nodded and grabbed the door knob. "Good luck Toby and congrats" Christa congratulated. I smiled as I opened the door and stepped in. Sandra was on the operating table surrounded by many doctors. She was sweating and looked to be in pain. I rushed to her side and grabbed her hand softly.
"I'm here baby"
"You're late!" She said angrily
"Sorry I was all the way in space fixing Mercury when you called" I said defending myself. One of the doctors then approached us. "We're ready to start the procedure, are you ready to deliver this child?" He asked Sandra. She blew a strand of her hair from her face "ready or not, this baby's coming out today" she said confidently.  The doctor nodded "let's get started then" he said.

After a few hours of screaming, pushing, and down right scary moments she finally popped out. "It's a girl!" The doctor announced as he placed the baby on Sandras chest.

She was wrapped up in a small blanket. She had fuzzy dark purple hair. The moment she was born I could sense the goodness in her heart. She was perfect, I knew I'd love her forever. "What's her name?" Asked a nurse. "That's up to the father to decide" Sandra said smiling at me. "What? Me?" I asked Sandra nodded her head. I paused thinking for a moment. "How about Andrea?" I asked. Sandra smiled "yeah, our little Andrea" Sandra said before kissing Andreas forehead.

After the doctors took Andrea to check if she was perfectly healthy and Sandra went into one of the hospital rooms I went out into the waiting room. Samantha was now here talking and laughing with Velro while Crimson sat down listening to music. I approached them and Samantha told me she was here because Derek had sent her in his absence. I told them the good news and the babys name and they all cheered. "That's great" Samantha said as she hugged me. "You being a father, what a scary thought" Velro joked. Crimson patted me on the back "can't wait to babysit" she said smiling.

I smiled just enjoying their company, "hey" Velro said. "That guy back there keeps staring at us, do you know him?" He said gesturing at someone behind me. I turned and seen a well dressed man with brown spiky hair, one of his eyes were green while the other was blue with a long blue scar running down his face. He was standing by the exit of the waiting room. I recognized that guy, he was here when I first beat Majesta. "Yeah he's an old friend, excuse me for a second guys" I said as I walked towards him.

The man walked out of the waiting room and I followed. The man stopped by a pair of vending machines in a lonely hallway. I approached him and he faced me. "Congratulations Toby" he said, "who are you?" I asked going straight to the point. "You'll soon find out but that's for another book" he told me. I tried feeling for his magical energy but couldn't get a read on him. It wasn't like Derek or Carnage, he felt...... Different.

"What book?" I asked, then I remembered Carnage saying something about an author. I took a step back and asked "are you the author?". The man laughed "no way, I'm nowhere close to being as powerful as that guy, but that's not why I came, I'm here to tell you to wait" he warned. I raised an eyebrow in suspicion "wait for what?" I asked. "The other heroes" he answered "the authors finally done with you, wait for the other heros and prepare for dimensional war" he warned again.

"What?" I asked, I was about to ask a million questions but the man disappeared in thin air like he did last time.
