After I opened a portal to Dereks place me Christa and Derek along with his guards were walking down through a small field towards Dereks place. "Sorry I couldn't get us any closer apparently Derek has a portal spell cast on his house" I said. Derek looked back at me as he lead the way "hey gotta make sure no one gets to it" he said. As we walked there were thousands of soldiers training out here. There were wooden buildings sitting around. "This is the training area for my army" Derek said. "I see" I said as I looked around.
We finally arrived at Dereks home which was a castle. The thing was tall enough to scrape the the sky. "It's so big" Christa said looking up at the castle. Derek snickered "that's what she said" he laughed. "Awe c'mon Derek don't be nasty" I complained. "Hey it's not my fault you took it the wrong way" he said laughing. We walked up the steps to the castle towards the front door. There was a blonde girl standing at the front waiting for us. She wore the same leather outfit but she for some reason had a cape attached to it.
"Did anyone come in Samantha while I was gone?" Derek asked. Samantha shook her head "no sir" she said. I looked at Samantha for a second, she looked so familiar. But then I noticed her light blue eyes. "Wait a second, you're that girl who saved me and Derek from Carnage all those years ago, you were with Velro when we first met him" I said. Samantha smiled "yeah you didn't know my name back then" she said. "Oh so you're no longer apart of the ministry?" I asked. Samantha nodded "the ministry didn't feel like home to me, so I joined Derek" she explained.
"Yes" Derek said "she quickly rose up the ranks to second in command to my army, my Samantha is basically your Velro" Derek explained. "That's great, good for you Samantha" I congratulated. "Oh thank you Toby" she said. "Okay enough chit chat, let's go to the Relic" Derek said. We made our way into the castle and down the hall. We approached a door with a large pad lock on it connected to some chains on around the door. "Alright hang on a minute I gotta unlock it" Derek said. I stepped forward "allow me" I said.
I pointed my hand towards the door and using only a bit of my mana the padlock clicked open and the door swung open. "Whoa that spell should've lasted 5 minutes the least" Derek said. "Not for me" I told him, Derek smiled "you never cease to amaze" he said as he walked in. "Yeah get that a lot" I said as I followed him in. We entered a large room throne room that had no windows and on chandelier on the ceiling. But there was no throne here. Instead there was a small pedestal in the middle of the room.
On top of the pedestal was a pillow, and on top of the pillow was a small chest. Me, Derek, Samantha, and Christa all approached it. "Well go ahead and open it" Derek told me. I swallowed hard and opened the chest revealing a small stone triangle. It was about the size of my hand. "It looks just like the pictures in the books" I whispered to myself. "Go ahead, touch it" Derek said. A tingle of excitement swayed over me. I reached in the chest and poked the relic with my finger.
Suddenly an extreme wave of energy flodded me. The balancer may give me unlimited mana, but this thing gave me unlimited power. I felt unstoppable, the energy it gave me was enough to blow up the universe. I quickly pulled my finger back cancelling the flow of energy. "Derek, that's incredible" I gasped. Derek smiled as he closed the chest "told you I found it" he said. I nodded "yes good job, can't wait to take it back to the ministry" I said. Derek looked at me with a confused expression. "What do you mean bring it back, why would you bring it back?" He asked.
"Well so it can be safe, this much power can easily be tracked, what if someone like Carnage comes for it" I told him. "Toby the relic is safe, I got it under protection here" Derek said. I chuckled "Derek the relic isn't safe here, it'll be safer with me". Derek frowned "what are you saying? That you can do a better job at keeping this thing safe then me" he angrily said. "Well yeah Derek, I'm more equipped" I told him. Derek then stepped up to me with a mad expression on his face.
"Now you listen here, just cause you're the Guardian doesn't mean you can come into my area and-" "you're area?" I interrupted. "Last time I checked the ministry runs the whole world, and I run the ministry, there are no areas". Derek looked furious now "you're wrong, this place is my place, these people are my people. There's nothing you can do about it, the relic stays!" Derek ordered. I paused for a second and looked Derek in the eyes. "The relic goes" I ordered, there was a long pause as we stood there looking into each others eyes.
Suddenly one of Dereks guards came in busting thorough the door in a rush. "Derek we have an intruder!" He yelled. Me and Derek looked at the guard "is it Carnage?" I asked, "is it Ken?" Derek asked. "No!" The guard answerd, "then who is it!" Derek yelled. The guard took a deep breath "it's Cindy" he answred.
