I stepped outside of the school as the bell rang. I sighed, where was I going to stay?

"Hey Gabbie!" I turned around as Stan ran out to meet me. "So I called my mom and asked her if you could stay at my house tonight and she said yeah!"

"What!? You would let me stay at your house?" I said and made a half smile.

"Of course... that's what friends are for."

"Thank you so much Mrs. Marsh. I'm sorry for all the trouble I have caused you." I said pulling my coat off.

"Oh. Its is quite alright! You can stay here as long as you need." She said setting the table.

"Oh! Here. Let me set the table." I said a grabbed the plates from her hands.

"My. My. Thank you Gabbie." She said and walked out into the kitchen.

I grinned and sat the last plate in its place. Then I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. They really did have a nice house. I wish that I had a house like this.

"Yo! Gabbie! Come here!" Stan yelled from up stairs.

I ran up the stairs and stopped in a long hall way. Stan waved to me from a door and I followed him into a room.

"Sorry, this is my room. My mom and I dragged the extra bed in here so you don't have to sleep on the couch." He said a gestured toward a bed.

"Thanks Stan. For taking me in when I needed a place to stay." I said and wrapped my arms around him.

"Stan! Gabbie! Time for dinner! Wait! Stan get Shelly!"

Stan pulled away and sighed. "Do I have to?!"

"Yes!" His mom yelled up the stairs.

"Its okay Stan. I'll go with you!" I said and walked to his sisters room with him.

....

"Shelly? Its time for dinner."

"Go away turd!" She yelled from behind the door.

"But mom said to come down!" Stan said opening the door.

"I said!... Who is that?" She said looking me up and down.

I looked at her for the longest time, before smiling. "Hi my names Gabbie. You must be Stans older sister."

"Great! Now there's another turd in the house!" She yelled throwing her hands up in the air.

She shoved past us and walked down the stairs. I made face at Stan and he nodded.

...

"Stan take your friend up and go to sleep!" Mr. Marsh yelled from the kitchen.

I pushed a button on the video game controller and killed Stan. "Victory!" I yelled and did a small dance.

"Well let's go up and hit the sack." Stan said. He shut the game off and trudged up the stairs in front of me.

Right as we opened the door to his room the phone rang. He ran to the phone and grabbed it.

"Hey Kyle... Yeah she's over here... hmm... Yeah I think that would be cool! Yup see yah tomorrow... Bye." He hung up the phone and looked at my confused expression.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Oh. Kyle wanted to know if after school tomorrow. If you wanted to go to his house and stay. Because you know, his family are Jews. So you can do Jew stuff." He said moving his hands all around.

"Yeah. That would be cool. But just know that, you were the first to invite me any where. Good Night Stan. I'll see you in the morning."

I laid down in the bed and covered myself up. As I closed my eyes and started to drift asleep I heard Stan talking.

"I wish I could tell her. She is very pretty. 'sigh' Oh well. Good night Gabbie." I felt his lips touch my cheek and then I fell asleep.
