Chapter 16

~Alicia's POV~

I ran into Harry as I walked up the stairs.

He looked at me concerned and I shook my head.

"Not now." I said and I walked past him.

I poured the memory in and dunked my head in.

~memory~

I was in Dumbledore's office but Dumbledore was still alive.

"I am not putting my daughter in danger because you want to gain some sort of trust for me!" I heard my father say angrily.

I looked to him sadly but listened.

"She needs to do this Severus. The boy needs help. He needs her power. But she must be claimed by then. She has to witness him die."

"I'm sorry? What do you mean die? The boy isn't dyeing."

"He will. By the Dark Lord's hand. It has to be his and it has to be done willingly. In order to kill the Horcrux that lives inside him."

"What are you on about?"

"The night Voldemort went to Godric's Hollow to kill Harry. And Lily Potter cast herself in between. A protection was formed. The curse rebounded. A part of Voldemort's soul latched itself on the only living thing it could find. Harry himself. There's a reason Harry can speak to snakes. There's a reason he can look into Voldemort's mind. A part of Voldemort lives inside of him."

Realization hit my father and he said "so when the time comes, the boy must die."

"Yes. And Voldemort must do it."

"But why does Alicia have to be there?"

"She will need to give him some of her power. He will need his strength."

He sighed and said "She won't like this if I tell her this now."

"I know. That is why you must tell her and Harry when Voldemort is at his most vulnerable. It is essential."

The scene changed and I was in the diningroom of Malfoy Manor.

My mother stood infront of the Dark Lord holding her arm out to him.

He reached out and held on to him.

My mother concentrated and I could see the magic surrounding her.

Her magic flew through her arm and into the Dark Lord and he looked healthier and more powerful.

I was back in his office and I ran down the steps and into the main entrance. Draco was there and he grabbed onto my arm.

"What are you doing?"

"Let me go. I have to do this."

"What are you crazy?! Alicia he will kill you!"

"My father is gone Draco. And it's only a matter of time that you are next. Now unless I do what my father's memory told me then I suggest you let me do this. If I die, so what. I don't care anymore."

He sighed and he said "Alright. Fine. But let me do this first."

He got down on one knee and held my hand looking in my eyes holding a ring in the other. I smiled a bit and he said "Alicia Marie Snape. We have been best friends for Merlin knows how long. You are my light in the darkness and the brightest star in the sky. And I am completely in love with you. If we make it through this, will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?"

Tears fell down my face and I said "of course."

He slipped the ring on my finger and cradled my face kissing me.

"I'm so sorry about your father. Now you go help save the world and come back to me alive. I love you."

"And I you." I said kissing his cheek and walking towards the woods.

I found the Dark Lord and he turned to me and smiled.

"I'm surprised you showed up."

"I have nothing else to live for. You killed my father."

"I'm had to be done my dear."

"I'm sure."

"You will understand in time. But for now we need to wait on the boy."

I sighed and shrank back to my mother.

She said nothing to me thankfully but kept throwing glances my way.

I looked over my shoulder and looked at Harris sadly.

Moments later I heard someone say "times up my lord. There is no sign of him."

I heard him sigh and said "What a pity. I was hoping he would come."

He turned to me and I froze until I heard sticks crunching in the distance.

He slowly turned around Harry emerged.

Hag rids voice rang out saying "HARRY? NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

"SHH. Quiet!" Someone said.

I looked at Harry sadly and the Dark Lord said "Harry Potter. The Boy of Lived. Come to die."

Harry said nothing but closed his eyes.

The moment got intense as he rose his wand yelling "AVADA KEDAVRA!" a green flash filled the air as both Harry and the Dark Lord fell.

I ran after Harry as my mother went to the Dark Lord.

Narcissa came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry about your father Alicia."

"It's fine. It's a war. I'd have to lose someone."

She sighed sadly and whispered "Go ahead while you still have a chance."

I held Harry's hand and closed my eyes concentrating on my power. I felt it flow through me and into Harry's hand until finally it rested again.

His body glowed slightly showing he gained the power.

"Now he has a chance."

She saw the ring and smiled.

"He is alive by the way."

"Good. Hopefully you both do. That way I can have my daughter in law.

I smiled until I heard "I do not need your help!"

I looked behind me to see the Dark Lord getting up and looking at Narcissa for answers.

"Dead." She said.

And I felt a tiny spring of hope.
