Chapter 54 : Tears

I sat next to April looking very confused .

"wait what do you mean ?"
"Why did you do it? Why would you do something so risky to the point where it would ru-"
"I did it because I had to . I knew you wouldn't understand .."
"Yea b-"
"I risked everything for you April ."
"Why!"
"Because I loved you! And if I had to make the choice into making your family not break up? I would do anything in my power to make everyone happy, even if I had to be the person that was ruined . Why do you think I let you leave ? As much as it killed me , I didn't want to let you go .. It wasn't my intention to hurt you . I wanted to marry you ! I was going to tell you ahead of time but I knew you wouldn't believe me . I had put you through so much that I thought , you would never love me again so I eventually gave up and never told you ."
"Grayson I- I don't even know what to say .."
"April I know this is hard b-"
"Grayson we could've been together by now ! We would've been married , possibly had kids ! We w-"
"I know I know , I'm sorry that I fucked up .."
"You didn't fuck up , I did . I went ahead and married Derek all because I wanted to forget you . I was so numb at the thought that you had knocked up Delany .. And look where I'm at now . I'm engaged .. I have a baby .. "
"Don't marry him April ."

I was so tired of losing April over and over again . I couldn't bear to hold it in anymore .

Tears came strolling down my face as I stared at April .

"Grayson we can't do this ."
"But April.."
"I'm sorry ..."
"Baby please , please don't marry him , I know what I did to you and I know I may have fucked up plenty of times ... But I love you ! When i found out that you were going to marry Derek , my heart broke , because that is when I knew I could never get you back , and I need you. I need you here .. I want you to be with me ."
"Why do you want to be with me ? Grayson I cheated on you , I hurt you a million times as well .. A girl tried to kill me ! Do you really want more drama in your life that you already have now ? I'm a mess ! Our relationship was amazing ! Yes it was .. But we can't ."
"So this is it ?"
"Grayson n-"
"So this is the part where you tell me , that your always going to love me , yet you marry Derek ?"
"Stop Grayson."
"No you were going to say it weren't you ? You were going to say that you love me but it's too complicated and that your confused ."
"Grayson I d-"
"Just admit it dude ! You don't love Derek!"
"I do .."
"No you don't , because if you did, you wouldn't be saying that you love me . You can't just love 2 people ."
"I know that Grayson ! I know ! What you think this is easy for me ? To see my ex fiancé being miserable ass hell? To know that my life would've been different ? What is it that you want me to say !
"That you love me ."

With no hesitation , April pulled me closer to her and kissed me . Why does it have to be like this ?

She pulled away and rested her head upon my chest and hugged me .

"I'm so sorry .."
" for what ?"

April looked up to me with tears in her face . I wiped them off and held her tighter .

April's P.O.V :

As much as I love Grayson , I can't do this , I made a promise to love Derek .. But who knows how much I can take . After all these months on being with him ? I don't know how far I can make it . Derek was supposed to be the love of my life , but when I see Grayson , I feel different .

Yes I know before I used to always say that no one could replace Derek , but everything that was keeping me happy , was always right in front of me . Derek was past tense .. We broke up for a reason ! I mean yea Grayson and I might've had our ups and downs , but every relationship has that .

I'm just lost right now ..

"Grayson?"
"Yea?"
"I-I think I should go now ."
"But why are you leaving ?"
"Grayson this isn't my house anymore .. I can't be here .."
"Yes you can . You are still allowed to be here ! Why can't you see that I love you ?"
"Grayson , I know that you love me ! I love you too ! But .. I have a baby! What do you think she would do if she found out that you weren't her father ?"
"That wouldn't matter April , as long as I raise her right , she would look up to me as her father ."
"Grayson I appreciate everything b-"
"I can't allow you to leave April !"
"Grayson .."
"April please I beg you !"

Grayson dropped to his knees . That immediately made my heart drop .

"I can't live two lives Grayson ."
"Then live one ! with me ."
"this isn't easy .. I can't just leave Derek ."
"Baby .."

I went down on one knee and reached for Grayson's hand .

"Grayson I love you . But please stop beating yourself up . Please do it for me. Stop with all the negativity .."
"Your going to leave me aren't you ."
"I'm not going to leave you ."
"Then stay .. please stay ."

Right when I was about to speak , my phone began to rang .

My Baby❤️ is calling...

"Hello?"
"Baby I'm coming home now ."
"Right now ?"
"I know I said I would be him earlier but my friends wanted to hang out ."
"Derek are you high ?"
"Only a little bit , I want you ."
"I'll call you back ."

I hung up the phone and got up .

"Grayson I'm going home now ."

Grayson nodded

"Please don't be sad ."
"I won't .. I'll wait as long as I have to
