Then Emily sat up violently, and started coughing. The three ran over to her, and helped her up.
“Where...what....huh?” She rasped. When she saw Maddie she gasped. “The pearl! It’s his weakness!”
“We know. You established that.” Maddie answered with sarcasm. Everyone nodded.
“What?” Emily said confused.
“Don’t worry about it.” Ethan answered. Then Maddie gave Emily her weapons, and Camo clothes.
“Oh, thanks.” She said. Maddie nodded and they looked at each other.
“Well, now we know what his weakness is.” Ethan said.
“Yeah. And we’ve damaged it a little at least.” Kayla added.
“But the rest isn’t gonna be that easy.” Maddie said darkly. “We have to find him, and destroy the pearl. But at the same time there’s a zombie apocalypse about to happen.” Then Emily shot a zombie that was walking into the room.
“You’re the demon know-it-all here! Where is he?” Emily asked.
“There’s only so much I can do! Don’t expect me to know everything!” Maddie snapped. Emily rolled her eyes, they started walking over to the exit. Maddie looked around the corner, shot a couple zombies, and walked across the hall with Emily, Ethan and Kayla following. Maddie led them through multiple classrooms, but he was nowhere in sight. Maddie literally growled in frustration.
“WHERE THE HECK IS HE?!” She yelled. Emily gasped as Maddie’s ears morphed into sharp points, and her teeth became long and incredibly sharp. Her normal brown-green eyes were now a blazing reddish-yellow. Maddie growled again and stalked off to the next room. Ethan, Emily, and Kayla were left staring. Their leader had just turned into a Werewolf.

Maddie was getting angrier by the second. She knew that if she couldn’t control herself, she’d shift.
Stupid demon poison, stupid infection, stupid cure that made me immortal! She thought to herself. She had been a werewolf for a couple days now, but she hadn’t shifted yet. She didn’t know if she was even a wolf. There was reports of Werefoxes in the Underworld, maybe she was one of them. Emily and Kayla came running into the room, out of breath.
“Ethan got bit by a Zombie.” Kayla groaned. Maddie sighed in frustration.
“How long ago did he get bit?” Maddie asked. Emily shrugged.
“Maybe ten minutes ago? It took awhile for the Zombie to detach itself from him.”
“If it was ten minutes ago, he’s a goner until we find a cure. We’ll have to move on without him. Who bit him anyway?” Maddie replied.
“It was Mikayla.” Emily grumbled.
“Figures.” Maddie sighed again, but kept walking. She stepped out of the front doors of the school.
“Do you sense him anywhere?” Kayla asked. Maddie paused and closed her eyes. She sighed.
“No. If I can’t sense him anywhere, then it’ll be impossible to find him.” Maddie answered. Everyone sighed in frustration.
“Maybe we should split up. Some of us search outside, and some of us search inside the school.” Kayla suggested.
“No.” Emily immediately said. “Remember the last time we decided to split up?” She protested.
“It doesn’t matter what happened last time. We just need to be more careful. And plus, if we all stay in one group, it would take longer cover ground.” Maddie said. Emily paused and looked at the ground.
“Please Emily.” Kayla said. Emily sighed.
“Fine, but I’m not going alone.” She said.
“I’ll go alone. You and Kayla search outside. I’ll search inside.” Maddie instructed. The two of them nodded, pulled out their weapons, and headed around the school.

Emily and Kayla went around the school a thousand times and found nothing. They had undrawn weapons and still nothing happened not even a single noise. They waited for a silence that would give away that Joey was near. But it never happened. The wind was slowly blowing, the trees were swaying as usual. Kayla stopped.
“We should find Maddie. There’s nothing out here.” Kayla said.
“No. That’s just what Joey wants us to think.” Emily said. Kayla sighed.
“Should we go into the woods again?” Kayla suggested. Emily paused and stared blankly at the woods.
“S-sure.” Emily stammered. Kayla put her hand on Emily’s shoulder to reassure her, and they headed towards the woods.

Maddie shot a zombie and kept moving forward. I should probably search for the the cure for Ethan, but I need to find Joey! And how am I supposed to search for a cure, when I don’t know what to look for? Maddie thought shooting another zombie. She had covered almost half the first floor of the school and that might sound like a lot, but with zombies roaming around, she’s got a long way to go. Shooting zombie, after zombie, she took a rest at Mr. Bishop’s classroom. Shooting zombies that came into the room, she made sure she didn’t get caught. After a couple minutes, she heard a low moaning sound. She looked around.
“Joey.” She whispered. She drew out her crossbow, and aimed at the classroom door.
She slowly walked towards the door, and then she saw a shadow, just before she could shoot, she felt big, cold hands wrap around her neck. She screamed, and whipped around only to find a fist to punch her in the face. She fell to the floor, and blindly shot everywhere. But Joey just gave an evil laugh. He grabbed her by the neck and pressed her against the ground holding her weapons down.
“Hello, my Queen.” He cackled. Maddie struggled from under his grip.
“For the last time, I’M NOT YOUR QUEEN!” Maddie yelled in his face.
“You will be soon. I could, kill you right now, but I’ll spare you a little longer if you accept this deal.”
“I’m not accepting anything!” Maddie spat. Joey ignored her.
“I’ll spare for now, if you tell me where Kayla and Emily are.”
“That’s-”
“Now, I know what you want. You don’t want to become a monster.” Maddie’s eyes widened. “I know where the cure is. If you tell me where your friends are, I will give you the cure.” Maddie paused. She didn’t want to shift, but she couldn’t tell him where Emily and Kayla were! After a little while of thinking, she came to her senses. She shook her head.
“No. I would never accept something stupid like that.” She spat. Joey shrugged.
“You’re a terrible liar.” Then Maddie heard a giant scream coming from outside the school. Emily and Kayla were in trouble! Maddie spun on her heel, and started to run towards them, but Joey grabbed Maddie’s arm and yanked her back. “Not so fast Zakorra.” He cackled putting a bottle filled with dark blue liquid in her hand. Before Maddie could say or do anything else Joey let go of her. “It doesn’t matter what you think Zakorra. We have a future together whether you like it or not.” Maddie screamed in frustration and swung her ax a his neck cutting it; but not completely off. Before she could slice him again, Joey faded into red mist and the room went silent. Maddie looked at the liquid in her hand. She shoved it in her pocket, and ran towards the screaming.
