A/N: Long awaited Chapter. Sorry :/

Maddie started screaming loudly and trying to push the glass backwards away from the dead spirit. She felt her ears turning to points and her teeth sharpening. Attempting to focus on any left over magic from being possessed, she pushed as hard as possible until she heard the glass start to groan and crack, then using her new found werewolf/werefox powers, she punched it once making it shatter. She dove out of the cage and rolled before attempting to jump up like the awesome ninja she was, but her legs wouldn’t cooperate and she fell back down. She heard her bones cracking, and panicked. That’s when the pain came. It was the most unbearable thing she had ever experienced. Including feeling all of Zakorra’s pain when she got killed. Hair grew overtop of her clothes and the shift finally ended. Maddie was now a completely black wolf with dark red highlights. Her eyes were still reddish yellow, but they seemed to glow brighter.
“Well, well, well.” She heard Joey snigger under his breath, using her new advanced hearing. She growled lowly at him. “I guess my queen really is special. Being the prophesied Dark Wolf and all. I’m safe to assume you haven’t met your equal, the White Wolf yet? He’s supposed to keep you calm. Kind of like Ying and Yang. How….cliche.” Joey smirks and crosses him arms. Then he smiled and reached out his hand. “Come my queen.” He said. “We have an army to lead.” He sneered. Maddie growled and leaped forward with her claws outstretched ready to rip open his chest. Joey just laughed and turned to mist. She looked around the room. Then she heard a faint evil laugh. She turned around and slashed at claw at him barely missing his neck.
“Your stubborn, I’ll give you that.” He said. “But you know you have to give your heart to me some time!”
“SHUT UP!!!” Maddie yowled. But her words only came out like a weird snarl. He laughed and simply vanished. Maddie growled under her breath and started looking for an escape. She soon found a door and nudged it open with her muzzle. She turned back to the evil machine and clawed at the control box until it was in pieces before running out of the room. She skidded to a halt, trying -and failing- to find a foothold on the tiled floor with her claws. To no avail, she crashed into the lockers painfully. She glanced around and noticed that she was outside of the choir room.
“Figures he’d make his lair hidden inside the school. She growled in her head. “How convenient. “ She lumbered into the choir getting a faint sense of him. She tried to sneak in as quietly as she could through the doors and looked around. Nothing. Just broken chairs. Then she sensed him in a practice room. She slowly walked/fell towards the practice room and peeked inside. There were two chairs set up at a fancy table with two little cups and a chandelier hanging on the ceiling. What the heck? Maddie thought. Then Joey appeared sitting in one of the chairs.
“Hello my love. I thought we could sit down, and have a drink and talk this out using words. I think you need to calm down a little.” Joey sneered. Really? Maddie thought sourly.
“That means you have to shift, darling.” He said. She gave him the best ‘No! Really?!’ look that she could manage in wolf form, before focusing on becoming human. When she was back to being human, she stood up and walked over to the table, not sitting down.
“Do you really think I’m going to cooperate?” Maddie asked. This time her words sounded normal. Joey chuckled then shrugged.
“Sit down my dear. Let’s talk this out.” He said calmly. But Maddie could hear the slightest sound of slyness in his voice. She was going to refuse, but then he caught a whiff of the tea. It smelled delicious. She sat down on the chair and looked intently at Joey. “Good girl.” Joey said. Maddie lifted her hands to take the cup. What the heck are you doing Maddie? Don’t drink it! But it smells....so.....good. Maddie thought. The smell was almost hypnotizing. She took the cup and lifted it it to her lips. Joey smirked at her. “Go on.” He said. Maddie closed her eyes, and poured a little into her mouth. It tasted delicious! Maddie happily swallowed the liquid then chugged the rest. After a couple seconds she started to get a numbing feeling in her body. It started to her feet, and rose to her head. Her throat began and close. Maddie fell to the floor choking for air. Joey laughed. “Oh, Maddie. You dumb little girl.” He said getting up from his chair. “You weren’t as smart as I thought. You see, I thought you would give your heart to me eventually, but that just wasn’t working. So I thought the only solution was to take your heart by force.” Joey laughed.
“You-you-you-” Maddie choked out.
“Don’t fight it my love.” He said walking towards her. I have to shape shift. I HAVE TO SHAPE SHIFT! Maddie mind screamed. But it was no use. “There was a chemical inside the tea you drank. Now, Zakorra is entering your body.” He said kneeling down to speak to her. “And soon, you’ll be mine. Forever.” Joey whispered in her ear.
All of a sudden, an arrow came flying at his chest, and it hit smack dab in the middle of his pearl. Joey leaned back, and fell to the floor screaming his head off. He rolled around with lava spewing out his pearl and trickling down his armour. Maddie weakly lifted her head to see who it was. She half gasped, half coughed when she looked at him. Jaiden. He was unaffected! She attempted to lift herself into a sitting position but after 3 tries - and fails- she finally gave up. Now that Joey was past out, slowly turning to mist, the process of Zakorra taking over Maddie slowed, but didn’t stop. She tried to focus on shifting into her wolf, and after a couple minutes it finally worked. She felt the pull and stretch of her bones, as well as Zakorra’s spirit leave her. The numbness slowly faded away. When Maddie slowly looked up, she saw Jaiden staring at her in shock.
“What the heck was that?!” He yelled. At first, Maddie couldn’t speak but then he finally got her voice back.
“Nothing you need to know. How did you get unaffected?” Maddie asked.
“Emily and Kayla came to me with a bottle a the cure, and healed me, but then we were attacked by Skeleton Ghosts and they told to go find you.” Jaiden answered.
“Wait, you left them alone?!” Maddie yelled. Jaiden shrugged.
“When I left them seemed to handle it okay.” He said. He Maddie let out a big groan.
“THEIR WEAPONS ARE USELESS AGAINST SKELETON GHOSTS!!!” Maddie yelled scrambling to her feet.
