It started off normally, the sun brightly beaming at my eyes enough that I had to lower my sunglasses. The fresh and thick gusts of wind frequently hitting us all, carrying the smell of the salty sea, and with it, making the tall grass dance above the cliffs.

We were walking normally, chatting as we normally would, no problems to be seen. We had promised to find the bowling alley we agreed to start off with, even though we had one at home.

I balanced myself on an uneven path of rigid rocks, sliding my white converse across the sharp edges. The tall grass that surrounded them tickled my ankles, causing me to smile gently whilst paying attention to the conversation airing around.

Within the familiar scent of the flowing ocean, carried with the warm breath of fresh donuts and bitter coffee, I heard Fran mumble something to Cora about something pointless, and I laughed unconsciously. There was a sense of perfection to the scene, as if it were a calm before the hurricane. Yet in my world, I thought no hurricane would hurl over me, and in that sense, I was wrong.

The sun was playing a game of Hide and Seek when we exited the bowling alley, me having lost entirely to all of them. We explored the city, began testing donuts that seemed extraordinary and unusual, but tasted like a sweetness of heaven nevertheless. I ordered everyone to get inside the car, to drive back to the hotel.

Everyone seemed confused, except Liam, who kept grinning like an idiot at the mere thought. I had changed my clothes to my comfortable denim shorts and a flowy, loose shirt. Underneath, a swimming costume. Two parts, although the bottoms went quite high. Pink, almost peach, with pineapples and pine trees on them.

The girls dressed similarly, and the boys went for simple shirts and longer shorts with their boxers underneath anyway. I shot a look of wonder and excitement at Liam, and then just to confuse him, shot one at Cole too. He smiled, and shook his head to what looked like disbelief. Perhaps, I thought, he knew. Perhaps, none of us did.

I had passed a law for it to be illegal to not sing loudly in a car, especially on our friend holiday. So our lungs were stinging halfway through, in a good way (if possible) from excessive singing of the summer hits; Attention, Human Touch, 2U, There For You, and Now or Never. Amongst others, of course.

There was a sickening turning of my stomach all of a sudden, almost like a foreshadowing of downcast events. The hurricane.

We furthered from the city centre, opened up our windows to experience the air of fresh fields, of rivers that never stopped flowing and carried rare fish. The waters which danced with the sun when it bounced upon the miniature waves, only separated by rigid rocks. The fields of endless grass, which swayed like the Hawaiian girls and their grass dressed, the only difference was the lack of a face and double leis.

The trees waved at each other welcomingly, and as our car sped past, they waved at us too, their branches reaching and trying their mightiest to feel the touch of human skin. On the same terms, my mind began drifting to the lone sensation of feeling Cole's skin, glazed by the sun but smelling fresh and feeling smooth.

I imagined laying on a thick blanket in the sun, the tall grass nearly masking our presence, a wireless radio spewing the random CD I put on, and in the midst of the gusts of wind that hit us and the radiating warmth of the sun, I imagine running my hands through his soft, bouncy hair. I imagine edging closer until I could lay my head on his heated chest, and draw invisible patterns.

I imagine going places that aren't deemed appropriate, and mischievous. But that lack of it in reality almost frustrated me, in a kind, desirable way. My mind sprang into too much life, again. I was unable to tame what sanity I had left.

I was snapped back when it wandered into worse things, into problems, arguments, difficulties I wasn't ready to face yet. Because I always, always do that. I drank the warm Lucozade we had hidden in the little pocket at the back of the passenger seat. It was awful, and I never liked Lucozade anyway.

But I had an open mind, even though I forced it to go to bad place, it began to resign in the heaps of reality, the destination of where we are going and the realisation that soon I will do what I thought only idiots did. Well, I guess I wasn't wrong.

Took us another half an hour, but once we passed the sheep and cows of the fields, we entered a town, which lead to a city and that, lead us to the airplane department. Everyone was pointing out planes and getting excited at the sight, right up until we turned into the area, the building with the labelled signs, "SkyDiving Centre"

And thus, the madness begun like no other.
