The boys came back with unexpected choices. All black, all the same styled bikinis and, to our biggest surprise, they weren't tiny; our boobs wouldn't fall out easily. Thank God. And Liam didn't force Cora to wear the swimming coat (we still crack up at just imagining poor Cora in one, staring deeply into the water as if contemplating her life). We went into a McDonalds bathroom to pee and change into the bikinis, but still put clothes over them cause we'd be a little too weird parading around McDonalds whilst flaring bare skin.
We come back and actually ate what's left of the Nandos from Liam and Dylan's massacre. The sweet potato fries won me over straight away, especially dipped in sour sauce. I chose a simple lime slushy and a new type of salad Fran begged me to try, which was a sensation in my mouth.
I laid there, on my back, the sun hitting my face, my upper lip sweating the tiniest amount and I take a moment to breathe, to take it in. I feel really good then, feel the blood pushing through my veins, feel the season beam off its best weather, and I fell okay. I am calm. I am happy. This is my place, a place I haven't visited in a long time, a place I missed most. I breathe in and out a few times; I'm okay, I'm okay.
Cora and Fran joined me and then, and after a few minutes, the boys did too. The six of us laid there, not even sunbathing, just laying down, doing nothing but relaxing. I knew Fran would appreciate this because she is now mostly busy. However, Cole decided to ruin everything, because he got up and dragged my arm until I wasn't laying anymore and demanded everyone to take their clothes off.
'I didn't sign up for an orgy.' Sighed Fran sarcastically and everyone burst into laughter. We took everything off until the only material on us were the swimming costumes. The boys went in first, sucking in their stomachs as the cold water drowned them up to their thighs. They then shot themselves into the water fully, Liam and Cole screaming like little girls while Dylan tried to pretend he didn't mind, but he did.
Then Cole came out the water, practically shivering and smiled a sheepish smile while I tried to get away from him. But, to no avail, he grabbed me by the waist and threw me over the shoulder. I was screaming hysterically, while the others laughed their heads off as strangers turned heads to see what was going on and why was this poor girl screaming her socks off.
I wasn't a fan of the sea, especially not cold. So as Cole carried me in, and Dylan tugged Fran's arm because they didn't know each other that well while Liam opening splashed the water at Cora, at the very moment my foot touched the water, I screamed louder, if possible. Cole was laughing, his body shaking so my screams were disoriented at moments.
I was fake screaming, of course, I was laughing between screams at my own stupidity while Cole kept angrily going, 'SHUT UP, WOMAN!' and then laughing at his own stupidity.
'Cole, no! please, don't do this.' I said, mimicking the voice of a horror movie actress.
'You sound like I'm going to kill you.' He chuckled and walked further into the sea, the water just above his knees.
'You basically are going to kill me,' I exaggerated, throwing my arms dramatically and chuckling afterward.
'It's not going to kill you.'
'It could!' I argued. He stopped walking and made the noise as though he was thinking. For a moment, everyone was silent and watching him.
'Let's find out.' he shrugged and dropped me in the water. The sea quickly swarmed me in; covering my arms and legs as I fell, and then swirling around until my stomach and face were underwater, where I sunk deeper until my bum hit the bottom. I panicked for a good moment, the water entering my nose as I wasn't prepared and making me try my hardest to get above the sea. I swivelled my limbs in the water, trying to fight it, until I floated to the top.
It was hell. Really, really cold hell.
I gasped the air, my eyes sealed shut, my mouth spitting the water out, trying to rid of the saltiness. He grabbed my arm but was still laughing. He helped me up, lifting me easily, hugging me to him as I tried to rub the water away from my eyes without smudging my makeup.
'Sorry.' He chuckled, wrapping his arms around my tiny head, bringing it closer to his chest. I gave in, placing my head on his shoulder, shivering against the wind as it swarmed toward me, the sun starting to hide behind the clouds near the horizon. I kept panting, from the cold, onto his neck which made him repeat his last words a few more times. I nodded, it's okay, it's okay, but my heart was racing.
I wasn't scared, I knew how to swim, it's just that I don't usually give in to this much of cold water so quickly. Cora was splashed with the water and grabbed by Liam inside, and Fran was dragging Dylan in now, because he admitted it wasn't his thing. Soon, we were all in the water, most of us swimming, the two of us standing in the deep water. I placed my hands on his chest as he kept hugging my head, starting to laugh and say, 'I love you really.'
