As the sun rose over the mountain ridges, the animals of the valley began to rise as well. Atop a hilltop overlooking the valley, a black stallion stood, his ears perked as the soft breeze blew against his mane and tail. From behind him, another black stallion and a dappled grey mare, stood watching the sunrise. "Wolf." The mare starts, walking up next to him and nudging his cheek with her muzzle "It's time to go."

Wolf allowed himself to relax at his mate's touch, turning his head nuzzle her back "I know, but someone needs to keep an eye on these humans." He sighed "They're moving closer and closer every day.."

"I can watch them." The other stallion suggests, taking a step closer, his steely blue eyes flashing "You go back, watch over the herds and I'll watch for a few days until we switch again."

"Good idea, Dash." Winter agrees, turning to Wolf who looked uneasy, "If you insist." He nods finally "But, I'll have Spirit here to keep you company." He says, his mind made up. Wolf turns, his hazel eyes sparking a light green. A few moments later a loud howl is heard, almost as a response. "Spirit will be here soon. Try to stay on his good side." Wolf smirks as Dash's eyes squint with uncertainty. "See you soon, Brother." He smirks, trotting off with Winter behind him laughing softly as Dash stammered for them to wait.

Dash froze when there was growling behind him, slowly he turned around and was met with the sight of a ginger and white wolf, it's golden eyes seeming to stare through his very soul. "Oh StarHerd protect me." Dash whispered, lowering his head. This would be interesting.

--

"Rock, duck!" A grey speckled mare yelled, galloping next to Mossy and Diablo. Rock didn't even question it, as he ducked his head a tendril shot over him attempting to lasso him. "Nice call out Ash!" Rock called kicking up dust as sprinted to the group. A caw of a eagle above them had Mossy snorting in amusement "Frodo says nice miss, Rowdy!" She calls back, to the tan stallion who was chasing them.

"Nice miss?!" Rowdy's faint voice spat in disbelief "Had Ash said nothing I would've gotten Rock!" He snaps, shifting his glowing gaze upwards to said eagle who was chirping in amusement.

Kicking himself into a faster gear, Rowdy barrels forward, slowly gaining on the retreating group. One of his tendrils slowly unfurl from his back, twitching as he aims for Ash's leg, before shooting out. Ash let out a shrill whinny, as her back leg was suddenly snapped away from the ground. "Diablo!" The black and bay stallion came to a skidding halt, sliding around to rear up and stomp on Rowdy's tendril. Yelping Rowdy let go of Ash's leg and let his appendage flee back to heal.

"Thanks!" Ash chirped, pushing herself up. "Okay that's game, we've been doin this over an hour!"

Rowdy glared at Diablo, his ears pinned "You didn't have to break it." He snapped, looking over the shriveled tendril.

There was a few flaps before a thud and a grunt, "Phew, I haven't shifted in a long time." Frodo states tiredly, "My wings are gonna be sore."

"Training group two!" Hawk's voice rang from one of the ledges above "Back to camp, IceHerd has arrived." He orders, "Yes sir!" Rock answered for the group "C'mon we should get going." Ash sighed, "Great, new horses."

--

"Glacier." Winter greets the light gray stallion warmly, her voice calm as she stared into his pale blue orbs.

"Winter." Glacier greets right back, less friendly however. It seems he was less than happy to be here and away from the IceHerd's cold climate.

"Join us, we were about to take the herds to graze." Winter requests, stepping to the side to turn around, her white tail flicking away any flies. Glacier hesitated, looking back at his herd and nodding before sighing, a icy breath cloud forming from it "Move out." He orders, "We're in TreeHerd territory now, Winter is leader here, you need orders you ask her. But do not forget, I am still the lead stallion of IceHerd." His tone is cold as he follows Winter.

"I am Wolf, scout leader." Wolf greets, trotting up to Glacier, "Hawk is the deputy here, and our lead med-horse is Mossy." The black stallion motions at the horses he speaks of.

"MountainHerd over there is lead by Dash, his deputy is Rose and he has no med-horse." Wolf states, pausing for a moment before speaking once more "Though he did request medical help from my brother-in-law. Rowdy and his comrade, they're over there." Wolf nods to the two, who were in conversation with Swirl and Ash.

"I am Glacier." The light gray stallion states "Ych is my second in command, our medical horse is Hail, my brother. Cupid over there is our lead scout." He states, keeping his gaze forward.

Wolf nods to them in greeting, granting them a smile "Nice to meet you all." He says before picking up his pace "If you'll excuse me."

Ych walked next to her leader, sending him a look before shaking her head and staring forward, unaware of the looks that Rowdy and Frodo were giving the others.

As the herds stood together, they unknowingly grew stronger than they originally thought, they were bound together by unbreakable bonds linked between them. The humans had no idea what they were truly messing with...
