For the next few weeks, Phil had to undergo intense chemotherapy. However, during these weeks, something else wrong developed as well:
Phil started to lose interest in everything and become reserved from his family and friends, including Dan.
"Morning Phil. Do you want any breakfast?" Dan always asks patiently, just for Phil to grunt in response. Dan knew that this wasn't like Phil at all.
"Do you want to do anything today?" Dan asks
"If we have to"
"What do you want to do?"
"Don't care"He had started to lose interest in all the things he used to love.
** Time skip **
"Phil, can I talk to you please?" Dan asked. He knew that Phil probably wouldn't like why he was going to say, but it was going to help them both.
"What's up?"
"Can I talk to you without getting angry?"
"Of course"They sat in silence for a minute. It grew very awkward. They didn't know what to say, until eventually Dan broke the silence.
"You haven't been yourself recently, is something wrong?"
Phil looked as if he was going to cry."Phil?"
Through tears, Phil managed to squeak out a few words. "I need to speak to a doctor"
"What's wrong?"Phil took a deep breath and said it:
"I think I have depression"Phil snuggled up to Dan and cried. He hated feeling like this, and he wanted to get better. He needed to speak to a doctor, but more importantly he needed to speak to the one he loved - he wanted to speak to Dan, but he was afraid.
"Dan?"
"Yes, baby?"
"Do you still love me?"
"Of course, why would you ask me that?"
"I just thought that if I told you, you wouldn't love me anymore"
"I will love you forever, no matter what you have, I love you"
They curled up on the couch together and cuddled, Dan wiping away Phil's tears.
