One week later.

"The doctor said that the results should be here in 7 days, do you want to ring up, Philly?" Dan asked.

"Um... ok. I'm scared though" Phil said, anxiously.

"Me too."

Dan picked up the phone, dialled the number and handed the phone to Phil.

"Hello" said the receptionist, in her grumpy-kill-me-now-I-hate-my-job voice.

"Hello, I am ringing up to get the results from my biopsy please?"

"Name please."

"Phillip Lester"

The receptionist clicked the keyboard a lot until she finally said in a more sympathetic voice "Phil, please  come into the surgery and see your doctor, he would like to talk to you in person"

"Ok what time?"

"Is about 11:00 ok?"

"Yes that's fine. Thank you. Goodbye."

"Bye."

"What's up?"
"We need to go to the doctors at 11"

Dan looked at the time. 10:45

"Do you wanna leave now then?"
"Ok"
They walked down to the doctors and signed in. The doctor came out about 5 minutes after and took them into the room.

"Phil, are you ready for the news?"
"I can tell by your voice what it is, but tell me anyway. Yes, I am ready"

Silence.

"Phil I'm so sorry to say that you have lung cancer."
"How? I do t smoke or do anything I shouldn't."
"Sometimes these things just happen. I will send a letter to your house telling you the next stages. I'm sorry."
"Thank You, doctor."

Dan and Phil walked home, thief eyes filled with tears. They sat on the sofa and cried for the rest of that day.
