One

[Two Years Later]

"Sanha! Wait up!" Hyemi raced her brother towards the school gates.

"Noona, we're going to be late if you keep this up," Her brother said, sounding a little irritated.

"Sorry," She ruffled Sanha's hair. "But I know you still love your sister."

Sanha fixed it up before entering the gate, "You're lucky."

They walked together looking around the surroundings. It was their first day after summer vacation. Sanha was a sophomore while Hyemi was in junior year.

"Guess who?" Hyemi's eyes were covered by none other than her best friend for 14 years.

"MJ!" Hyemi squealed.

"No fair," MJ let go and fixed his backpack. "Did you miss me?"

Hyemi flicked his forehead, "Idiot! Busan isn't that far,"

"Yeah, but you didn't even bother to call during the break,"

"I got busy,"

MJ leaned in, "With what?"

"Nothing!" Hyemi quickly tucked the notebook closer to her chest.

"What's this?" MJ took it and tried flipping the pages.

"Hey, Kim Myungjun!"

"Catch me!"

The two of them raced around the field while Sanha just frantically walked to his classroom, I should leave them alone. He thought to himself.

"Give it back, MJ!" Hyemi exclaimed, dragging MJ to the ground.

"Hey! Hyemi! That tickles!"

"You're asking for it!"

Their tickling session was cut short when they heard a slap just a few meters away from them.

"How could you do this, Bin?" A girl said, throwing the flowers at a guy. "I thought you said you loved me."

Bin leaned in, "See, that's the thing. You said, 'you thought', I never said any of that."

The girl shook his head, letting the tears fall, "I hate you."

She quickly walked passed MJ and Hyemi.

"Well, that's another victim for Moon Bin," MJ said, standing up.

Hyemi looked at Bin who threw the flowers at the nearest trash can.

"Yo!" Jinjin, one of their friends slung his shoulder on the both of them. "How was your summer?"

"Horrible," Hyemi muttered. "Not to mention we just met each other at dinner last night,"

"You had dinner with them?" MJ asked Jinjin.

Jinjin nodded, "I swear, I didn't even know we were eating at Hyemi's. No wonder mom said to look elegant."

"Look, you guys don't even want to get married, right?" MJ asked, as Hyemi opens her locker and took out the books she needed.

"Well, yeah." Hyemi said, looking at Jinjin. "But there's nothing we can do about it."

"Tell your parents?" MJ suggested, earning a look from the two students.

Hyemi smiled and closed her locker, "Good idea. You tell my mom and Jinjin's dad."

Jinjin chuckled and patted MJ's shoulder, "Good luck with that."

Jinjin was about to enter the classroom when he bumped into Hyemi, "What are you waiting for?"

Hyemi was looking at a certain guy in front of the faculty room. He went in as soon as one of the teachers called him, "Is he a new student?"
