Twenty-Seven

Flashback to that day

"MJ seems to be enjoying himself!" Hyemi screamed through the loud music.

They were at the bar counter and MJ was on the dance floor dancing weirdly with a random girl.

"This is a great night!" Bin comments as he drank another cup. "We should go to parties like this often."

"Yeah, right." Eunwoo snickered. "Then we'll have to carry you all the way back to the car because you can't walk."

Bin scoffed, "I got drunk one time and you people assume that kind of stuff."

Eunwoo shook his head in disagreement, "I'm going to the bathroom."

As soon as he left, Hyemi took the cup away from Bin, "Stop that. Did you forget you're driving tonight?"

"Come on, just one more cup," Bin pleaded, moving Hyemi's chair towards him. If they were face to face before – now – they're bodies are inches apart.

Hyemi felt herself blush and Bin put his head on her shoulder.

"Binnie -"

"Do you..." Bin muttered, sounding serious. "Do you like Eunwoo?"

"I already told you, didn't I?" Hyemi tried removing his head, "Now, get off. You're heavy."

Bin grabbed her hands and circled it around his neck. They were looking straight into each other's eyes.

The music toned down a bit and he was leaning in for a kiss, so did Hyemi.

Their lips touch and it was the most magical moment for the both of them. It was Hyemi's first kiss, and although it wasn't Bin's – it was still perfect.

He kissed her with all the love he felt for her all these years, and Hyemi did the same smiling in between.

Hyemi's tear fell as the memory flashed through her mind. She's currently sitting on the chair beside his bed.

She quietly holds his hand, wrapping it around hers, "Hey, Binnie. Sorry I haven't been here lately. I just can't bear to look at you in this condition."

Bin was still in the hospital and it's been three weeks. If he doesn't wake up soon, something might go wrong.

"Your parents were here earlier, they brought your favorite food and everything." She looked at the basket on the couch. "But apparently your friends have eaten half of it,"

Another tear fell, "Remember when you kissed me that night? That was my first kiss and I thought we would be together yet you left MJ and I to take the blame. I knew you were scared, I was too. I just wanted you to hold me and tell me it's going to be okay – but you didn't."

Hyemi didn't know Bin was awake and he was hearing everything.

"I felt betrayed and furious, I pushed you away and didn't even hear what you had to say,"

Hyemi wiped her tear away, "Still you're so unfair, you know that? You said, you'd always be here for me even if I choose Eunwoo or Minhyuk, but now that I'm choosing you, you're still lying there with no plans of waking up."

"I can't take this anymore," Hyemi stood up and was about to grab the doorknob when she felt someone hugging her from behind.

"I miss you," His voice said. The voice she fell in love with the first time he said her name. The voice she's been waiting to hear.

Hyemi put her hand on Bin's arms which were wrapped around her shoulders, "Tell me this isn't a dream,"

Bin hugged her tightly, "It isn't."

"Do you think Hyemi will believe Bin is still in a coma?" Jinjin asked.

"Bin's a good actor," Eunwoo comments as he sat down. "I can still remember the time when he got really depressed because of what happened that night."

Eunji looked shocked and raised his hands, "Hold on, hold on! Bin was depressed?!"

Eunwoo nodded, "He even tried taking sleeping pills. He was a wreck back then."

"I'm not buying it," MJ honestly said.

"Well, I witnessed it. He kept saying it was the biggest mistake of his life and if he could turn back time, he would've never left."

Eunji giggled as Jinjin asked, "What got you all giddy?"

"I can just imagine Bin and Hyemi going out!" Eunji exclaimed. "They would be the perfect couple,"

"Hey! Don't be insensitive." MJ exclaimed, motioning to Eunwoo.

Eunji quickly apologized, remembering the situation. "I'm sorry, Eunwoo."

Eunwoo chuckled, "That's okay. I'm kind of over it now. Hyemi and I are friends and I'll settle with that. As long as they're happy."

"I heard Bin's been stepping back all those years for you," Jinjin comments.

"Yeah, and now it's my turn,"

"What about him?" Jinjin pointed at Minhyuk who was on his phone. "Minhyuk! Do you still like Hyemi?"

Minhyuk heard and looked at them, "I'm not going to steal her away from him, geez."

They all looked at each other and laughed, "Good enough for me!" Eunji sent a thumbs up.

"When did you wake up?" Hyemi asked.

Bin was sitting on the bed while she was standing up, hands on his shoulders. His arms were wrapped around her waist.

"Three days ago," Bin answered, pulling her closer to smell her scent.

Hyemi scrunched her eyebrows, "And no one even bothered to tell me that?!"

Bin pouted, "What about you? When I woke up, you weren't there!"

Hyemi didn't answer. She just continued giving Bin a look that says, 'Are you serious?', until he surrendered and said, "The first day was exclusive for family. They were doing some tests on me, see if I was doing okay."

"What did the doctors say?"

"I only have until today to live."

Hyemi blinked, her eyes started watering.

Bin saw it and laughed really hard. Hyemi, realizing it was a joke, hit him multiple times, "I hate you! That wasn't fair!"

"I'm just kidding," Bin said, still laughing. "I'm sorry,"

"You're lucky you're cute," Hyemi muttered.

"Do I have to get hit by a bullet to wait for you to say those words?"

The girl chuckled, "I always thought of you that way."

"Really?" Bin asked, hugging her again.

Hyemi was feeling a bit flustered, "Bin, if you don't let go, I'm going to die here."

"Sssh, let us have our moment," Bin whispered as Hyemi decided to hug him back, blushing.
