Twenty-Five

Hyemi was in the ambulance holding Bin's hand. She was letting the tears fall as Eunwoo pats her back.

Hyemi heard a crash and saw him rolling on the stairs, "Moon Bin!" She quickly rushed to him, ignoring Aera.

"Hey, Binnie ~ come on, wake up," She said, putting his head on her lap.

"Ohmygod, Bin!" MJ exclaimed, also kneeling down.

"I'll call an ambulance," Eunji said, her phone shaking in his hand. "Hello? Yes, it's an emergency..."

Jinjin opened the door, "The police are he – what happened?"

"Where is she?" MJ's dad asked.

                "She's upstairs with Eunwoo and Minhyuk," MJ answered as his dad pointed at his two officers to walk upstairs.

"Did you call an ambulance?"

Eunji came back, still shaking, "I did. They're on their way."

"Moonbin?" Hyemi said, her eyes were all watery. "I'm here, please wake up," She cried into his chest, trying to hug him tight.

"What's the patient's name?" The nurse asked.

Eunwoo looked at Hyemi but she was too weak to answer, "Moon Bin." He replied.

"Trespassing, sending threats, attempted murder, holding a gun unsupervised, firing a gun unsupervised," Officer Kim said, explaining Aera's faults. "Where is your father?"

Aera huffed, "You tell me. I haven't heard from him in two years!"

"Who are you living with?"

"My aunt. I doub't she'll be of assistance because she's a lunatic."

MJ scoffs, "I guess it runs in the family."

"Easy boy." Officer Kim calls him out.

"Dad, can't we just send her straight to jail?" MJ suggested.

"That doesn't work around here son," His dad replied. "Why aren't you boys at the hospital?"

"I wanna see how she gets punished," Minhyuk answered.

Officer Kim nodded, "Oh, she will get punished alright. We just have to contact her dad first."

"Good luck with that," Was the last thing the boys heard Aera said as they walked out of the stations.

"Hey, Minhyuk," MJ called out, sighing. "Listen, I haven't formally apologized to what happened that day. So I'm sorry,"

Minhyuk put an arm on his shoulder, "MJ, it's okay. I knew you weren't the one driving. Eunwoo told me and besides I can't blame Bin right now. He needs to wake up first before I can do that,"

MJ chuckled, "He'll wake up. He's strong and Hyemi's right beside him."

"He really likes her that much?" Minhyuk asked as they walk through the cold night.

"They both do," MJ admits, seeing the stars above. "But sadly, because of what happened, her anger hid her feelings from him."

Minhyuk looked down, knowing he lost his chance.

"Hey, don't feel so down," MJ slung his shoulders over Minhyuk's. "You'll find someone, soon. And please, no more crazy girls."

Minhyuk chuckled but asked in a serious tone, "If she likes him too, why didn't she forgive him? She was always getting furious whenever she sees him and -"

"She tried, but you see, there might be a broken heart behind her happy face but an angry one always hides a betrayed heart."

Hyemi wiped her tears waiting for Bin's surgery to finish. Her heart was beating so fast and she didn't know what she would do if this wasn't a success.

"Hyemi," Minhyuk arrived together with MJ.

MJ looked around, it was quiet. "I'm going to go get a drink," Hyemi nodded and MJ walked out.

"How long have they been in there?" Minhyuk asked, sitting down.

"A few hours, I don't know," Hyemi said, sitting up. "I just want it all to be over."

"Listen, I know this is not the time but I just want to make this clear,"

"Minhyuk, if you're asking me for another date again, please s-"

Minhyuk cut her off, "I'm not. I came to apologize – for kissing you that night. I shouldn't have done that,"

Hyemi fiddled with her fingers, "It's okay, you don't have to apologize."

"Yes, I do. And I'm not going to try and push 'us' any longer." He said, the words he never dared he would say in front of the girl he likes, but he has to. "I know you like him – actually everyone knows. Funny, how I wasn't informed."

The girl shook her head, "I never told anyone."

Minhyuk smiled, "They just know. And I hope he wakes up because if he doesn't, I'll wake him myself and punch him for leaving an amazing girl behind."

Hyemi smiled at the thought.

"Are you Moonbin's guardian?" A nurse walked up to them.

Hyemi nodded, "His parents are out of town and -"

"I have something to tell you."
