Chapter Five
"Don't hang up, can we talk? So confused, it's like I'm lost. What went wrong, what made you go? Don't pretend... you don't know. This is me... I'm unchangeable." I strummed on my guitar, my mind caught up in the song. I was someone different when I played; I was the opposite of who I really was. It was like I was back being a little kid, carefree, when nothing but being who I really was mattered. When I wasn’t searching for peoples acceptance, and when I wasn't broken. "When did we... fall apart? Or did you lie... from the start?" I continued.
Music was... an escape. An inner release of emotions I didn't even dare of thinking about when I was with my friends. Only one knew of my past. I planned to keep it that way.
I jumped and dropped my guitar when my bedroom door swung open. Letting out a shocked squeak, I stood up quickly and picked up my guitar, expecting it for any bumps or scratches. When I was satisfied that is when okay, I turned to glare at the person who interrupted my peace. Madi and Kris smiled wryly at me. Glaring at them, I let out a frustrated groan. "What do you want?" I snapped at them.
Kris' wry smile changed to a bright, happy one quickly. "We're going to a party tonight!" She exclaimed.
I looked at Madi, who was shaking her head vigorously. "Yeah, and the reason we are here- because I know your dying to wonder why we are, is to help you get ready."
I raised an eyebrow at the pair of them, standing up off my bed and going to stand in front of them. "Since when did I need your help getting ready? And why the sudden change of actually wanting to help me get ready?" I snorted, thinking back to the many times I had asked them to help me get ready for an event or party and they always found something else they 'had' to do. I am pretty monstrous when trying to get ready.
Madi shrugged her shoulders. "We just felt like it."
Sighing heavily, I looked pointedly at her. "There has to be more of a reason. Normally, you guys are the first ones at the party and I arrive 'fashionably' late." Cocking my hip to the side, I began to tap my foot impatiently.
Glancing at Kris' face, I noticed her gnawing on her bottom lip and her eyebrows creasing. She couldn't hold it much longer. "There's an underlying reason as to why we are here getting you ready." She blurted out.
A smile crossed my face and I stopped tapping my foot. "And this reason would be?"
Madi was glaring at Kris and she slapped her on the shoulder. "You dumb blonde!"
"I'm not even blonde!" Kris shouted as I said, 'I take offence in that!' at the same time.
Madi ignored us as she continued to throw hated words at Kris. "You idiot! She wasn't supposed to even know that much!" Throwing her hands up in the air and letting out a large, annoyed grunt, she turned to me, her eyes glaring with anger. "You, get in the shower!" She pointed a slender finger towards the closed bathroom door.
Glaring back at her, I followed her orders and walked off towards my bathroom, stripping my clothes along the way. "Yes, mother." I muttered before slamming the door shut.

"I don't care if you were looking for the element of surprise, a call would have been wonderful." Still slightly peeved at them for showing up, I made sure to snap at them one more time. I would have to get over it eventually. Truthfully, I was wondering when they would bring up the topic of my guitar playing. For some reason, I really wanted their view on me singing and playing. I wanted them to finally know so I could be accepted by more people I cared about.
