Extremely sorry for how short this is.
Chapter Six
"Hey, it's Savannah!" "Hey sexy!" "Oh my god! It's Savannah!" "You totally rocked that party, Savannah!" Words where thrown at me from every way, and I kept trying to thank them all but I was beginning to get dizzy just looking back and forth at their faces.
Who knew that me singing just a few songs at a party could gain me so much popularity. I could see it now: Small town girl Savannah Davis is number one on the billboards.
I was rudely awaken from my day dream by being smacked in the back of the head.
"Hey, I think her head grew some." I heard Madi snicker.
"I think your right." Kristen agreed, and Brandon and Kyle both shook their head in agreement.
Frowning at them, I placed my hands on my hips. "And why do you say that?"
Scoffing, Brandon walked closer to me and slung his arm around my shoulder. "You should see your face, Savvy. Face it, you love this attention. But don't worry, we'll always be here. Just remember we’re the only reason you gained the courage to sing up on a stage in front of people."
Snapping my shoulder back and making his arm fall of around me, I turned to glare at the lot of them. "You say that like I'm going to go off and forget about you, what do you think I am, some stuck up bitch?" They glanced at each other. "Okay, don't answer that. Even if some day I so happen to become famous, I'll never forget you guys." Taking a deep breath, I made sure to look pointedly at each of them. "Now, are we done with the heart-to-heart, deep conversation shit? It's not my thing."
Bubbles of laughter echoed around my friends. "Yeah, this 'heart-to-heart conversation is done, it's just funny seeing you get all awkward and stuff." Brandon commented
Crossing my hands over my chest, I let out a humph sound and stomped my foot on the ground. I'm sure to passing people I looked like a two year old throwing a tantrum because they didn't get the toy they wanted. "Shut up." I mumbled.
Reaching their arm towards my face, Madi squeezed my cheek. "Awe," She cooed. "Is someone embarrassed?"
"Shut up!" I snapped at her. Turning around, I glanced at the clock on the wall. I had a good five minutes until class started(not that I cared). Deciding quickly that I wanted to get away from my friends for just a while, I did what I thought I would never do. I stomped into my first period... five minutes early.
Shocking even myself, I sat down on the second row of seats, making sure though, to sit by the window so that it I managed to scare myself any more today, I could jump out of it and end this torture.
The only other person in the room -- some nerdy kid named Trisha -- glanced at me. My murderous glare caused her to squeak and look back down at the thick book she was reading. Satisfied, I turned forward in the desk, only to be interrupted with a tap on my shoulder.
"What?" I snapped, but quickly regretted it when I saw who it was. "Ah... sorry, I thought you were going to be Brandon or someone." I apologized to Luke as he sat down beside me.
"It's fine," He assured me with a smile. "What's got you in such a bad mood though; I'd honestly think you'd be all cheery since you've gained so many fans in just a night."
Letting out a large sigh, I let a frown come to me. "That's the problem, they all think that I'm going to let this... whatever you want to call it get to my head and I'm just going to go off and forget about them and even if they haven't admitted it, they look at me different now." I rambled on.
Widening his eyes, Luke placed his hand over my mouth to stop me from talking. "It's all okay, just give them time. They have to adjust to it too, not just you. They are going to have to realize at some point though, that this could lead to bigger things."
Luke removed his hand as I nodded my head. "Thanks," I said. "I should keep you around, you could be my personal Confucius or something." I joked.
"Very funny," He commented with a roll of his eyes. I could see a small smile forming on the edges of his lips. A silence passed over us as I glanced up at the clock. Three minutes till class started. "Ah..." Luke began and I snapped my head back to look at him. "Sorry about Friday night... I really did have to babysit over the weekend." A guilty look crossed his features, and I suddenly felt a bit bad. He cared for his sister, and I only wished someone cared for me like that when I was younger.
I shook my head, letting all emotions that crept up my spine dissapear.
Not letting the emotions show, I let a smile form on my lips. "It's fine, really. I understand, I have an older brother and I'm sure he had to do that numerous times with me." Honestly, that was a complete lie.
"How about I make it up to you?" He said. "What are you doing Friday night?"
A sudden wave of joy washed over me as I looked Luke in the eyes. I thought to my friday night. "Uhm, probably a party but I can skip it. I'm sure hanging out with you would be more fun." Through this whole conversation, I had forgotten that Luke was my next target. Reminding myself of this, I made sure to turn on the charm.
"Okay," He said. "Here's my number." Quickly pulling out a piece of paper he jotted down ten digits that was his number. Smiling, he handed it to me just as the bell rang and students flowed into the classroom.
Turning around to look at the back row, I saw that Brandon and Madi sat bat there. They were looking at me with confused faces but I only smirked at them and nodded my head towards Luke. They both smirked at me when they figured out my hidden motives. I gave them quick thumbs up as the teacher began calling role.
