Chapter Nine
I felt JT's muscular hands on my waist and then the absence of ground. I soon found myself being planted onto the concrete stage. Turning around, I glared angrily at JT. "You knew all along, didn't you?" I snapped.
"Sorry," He said, an innocent look crossing his features as he shrugged his shoulder at me. "Now go sing your heart out." He winked at me before turning his back and disappearing behind the stage.
Sighing deeply, I suppressed a groan that wanted to leave my lips. Placing a smile onto my lips, I trailed up the microphone. "Uh... hi everyone!" I shouted, unsure of what really to say. My confidence bubbled when people cheered for me. "Well, this was totally unexpected, I mean, no one told me I was going to be doing this so I'm sorry if I seem a bit... lost." I trailed off lamely. Since when did I not have things to say?
Before I could speak again, music began blaring out of the speakers that surrounded the stage. I quickly recognized the song as 'Love The Way You Lie' by Rihanna. I smiled as I belted out the first note.
The more songs I sang, the more energetic I and the crowd both got. The later it got into the night, the more upbeat and inappropriate the songs got because the adults and little kids had gone home.
"Thanks everyone!" I shouted, using the back of my hand to wipe off the layer of sweat that covered my forehead. "I had an amazing time." I smiled at everyone before running off the stage. Adrenaline pumped through my veins and I felt like doing something wild and crazy.
I jumped off the stage and was immediately caught by strong arms. "That was amazing, Vannah!" Brandon shouted.
With adrenaline still pumping through my veins, I felt all bubbly inside. "Thanks!" I beamed up at him, as a large smile grew onto my lips.
I heard coughing behind him and quickly looked over his shoulder. I found my brother standing tall and proud, a smirk on his lips and his blue eyes gleaming. "What are you doing here, loser?" I questioned a smile on my face as I walked over to him.
He opened his arms for me and I quickly jumped into him for a hug. "Watching my sister perform, got a problem with that, dork?" He shot back.
"No, not at all." I smiled brightly at him.
I had always wondered if my brother secretly knew about my singing. I remember one time he walked into my room when I was being lazy and sitting on my bed, strumming on my guitar and singing random songs. I had quickly thrown my guitar away from me and acted like I was doing nothing.
Sneaky little bastard had figured me out then.
"Oh, you've got a little friend waiting over that way for you, too." He hooked his thumb over his shoulder.
Scrunching an eyebrow in confusion, I glanced behind to where he was pointing and I was clearly shocked at what I saw. There stood, in all his Godly glory, Luke Heywood.
The excitement that still bubbled inside me caused me to bound over to him, a gleeful smile playing on my lips. "Hey!" I shouted at him.
He blinked it shock at my hyper manner. "Hello to yourself." He laughed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Well," A sly smirk came across his face. "I thought we could go on date number two."
