Dipper's pov
After I got my voice back Stan, Mabel and I called mom and dad. This is going to go well. It felt like both of my stomachs were flipping inside out and filled with butterflies. My hands were sweaty as I read over what we agreed to say. We had also made the decision to use a computer to call for visual but because Stan didn't own a computer like that, we went over to the library. Not the most ideal but it would have to work. So Stan drove us to the library. I returned my books and strode over to where Mabel had opened the video chat app. She adjusted her pink sweater with a yellow smiling duck on it that Bill had called stupid earlier and smiled as Stan clicked the call button.
"What if they don't pick up?" Mabel asked.
"Well-" I started but was cut off by the slightly off cue answer of the phone.
Our dad picked up the call with a semi-confused look but then saw that it was us, "Hey kids, let me get your mom!" He got up from the computer and walked into the other room.
With only a brief glance at us I suppose he didn't notice the fact that we were monsters. Our dad always was a bit scatterbrained at times.
"Honey! The kids are on the phone!" We heard our dad yelling on the other end faintly.
"What do your parents do again?"
"Dad works in computers and mom is a real estate agent."
They came back into the room. And mom screamed. People from across the library looked at us and a few shushed us. Mom ripped off her plastic red glasses and cleaned them on her shirt.
"Wh-what is all over you all!" She yelled.
My dad froze seeing it for the first time her nervously chuckled, "It's...it's one hell of a cosplay." Normally mom would elbow it hit him for swearing but with what they were trying to process, I could see why she didn't.
"W-well," my ears folded down and she freaked out again, "we got turned into monsters." I rubbed the back of my neck.
"What do you mean?" Dad said.
"We got cursed and now we're monsters. We don't know how to fix it yet," Mabel said putting up her hands. Mom got one look at the webbing and froze.
"Please tell me those are gloves."
"Nope. None of this is fake," Stan said. In the past few days his eyes had began to slowly turn yellow and glow. I'm sure with all of his other features he looked like Satan incarnate. Not the best for when you're trying to gently break then news that your children are no longer human.
"Is...is that you Stan!"
"Yeah."
"What are you?!"
"I'm a gargoyle." Dad looked shocked.
"Like those things on cathedrals?"
"Yeah."
"And kids...what...what are you?"
"Ima mermaid!" Mabel swung her tail in the air and her head into the water, "See!" I could have sworn dad almost fainted.
"A-and you, Dipper?"
"I'm something called a cervitaur," I said backing up for them to see my legs.
