Susan woke up the next day she wondered what had happen to her the night before. She began to look around she figured she had died and maybe this was a part of heaven. Not only was she alive but now she was laying in a Hugh oak wood bed that was covered with fine silk sheets from Arabia. The sheets were the color red it was as if she was laying in a pool of her own blood. She couldn't help but feel as thought she belonged. The thirst that coursed through her veins was more than she could bare. Something was seriously wrong why was she craving blood she wondered?  Michael came to her in the night he often looked upon her to see if her transformation was a  success. After all she would be his first the other four were nothing other than his sires who jobs were to serve him. Susan was different she would become a independent vampire free to make her own will.

Three months has past and Susan had full knowledge of who she had become. She remained under Michael's care from the very day he fist turned her. It was not because she wanted to it was only to learn all she could on how to survive as a new vampire. He taught her everything how to hunt and how to use her new found powers to serve her at will. He taught her how to control the air and how to become faster and stronger than anything that has breath in its life.

She was powerful but more than anything she was her own woman who was not bound nor sired to anything not even Michael himself.

She often thought of that fatal day when Michael changed her life forever. She remembered when the voice called out to her within the mansion hall she know knew the secret to whom the voices came from. These poor souls were his very first victims who sole purpose is to be Michael's puppets sired to do whatever he wanted. Although they do not require to kill humans to live on they do feed.  Eating mostly on animals to consume the blood to sustain life. The humans were off limits to them unless Michael sired them to kill they would not. In a small type of way Lucian was glad that Michael didn't turn him into what the sires was. He couldn't see himself taking orders from anyone not in this life time or the next.

The sires lived mostly inside the mansion hypnotized by the one who turned them into what they are. Susan loved the fact that he didn't condemn her to a life of what seemed to her as a waist. She saw her self doing many things she wanted badly to move to Paris. She often day dream of having a normal life. She also  knew that this would never happen. Not as long as she was a monster. She hatted what he done to her at lease he could have asked her if she wanted what he had to offer. But he didn't and this made her mad she vowel that she would never do the same thing to another like what he done to her.

Meanwhile Michael Collier barely came around when he knew that Susan was home. If he was inside the mansion she knew nothing about it. Why was he staying away from her she wondered?

The shadows is what Susan called them.  They were the reason for what had happened To her. Crafty little things she whispered . she visualize how she would kill them the only thing that was stopping her was the fact that they were sired to Michele. She knew that the shadows kept a close eye on her for Michael. This is why he was never  home he didn't need to be she whispered. The shadows were his eyes and ears at all times and Susan knew this. She never like the fact that the shadows didn't sleep and was free to roam the mansion and the grounds forever. At times Susan would leave and not rest inside the mansion. She knew that they were watching her even when she rest in the day time.
But what could she do they belonged to Michael and even being a vampire there were rules as to the vampire sires.
Susan leaped out the window with tears in her eyes she wanted nothing to do with any of it.

Meanwhile clear on the other side of town Michael stalked his prey. He watched as the helpless man went on about his every day life. Michael knew perfectly well that the human didn't even realize that he was being hunted. It always ended up this way some would put up a fight for there miserable lives. While other knew to just submit to what they had no control over. He particularly like the ones who didn't make it no harder than it had to be. Those were his specialty if they all could be like them, he thought to himself.

Michael waited patiently for the right time to feed. It was late in the afternoon and the man Michael thirst for had not got of from his job at the time. But Michael had no plans for going anywhere he hadn't had a taste of blood for days now. His appetite was animalistic he wanted badly to just go inside and kill his meal like the savage he was. But he knew that it would only draw attention to his world and that he could not afford.

Tonight this human
would be his he whispered softly as he dematerialize into night.
