Detective Scott Daniels had one thing in mind and that was solving the case of the poor murdered victims that was found slain throughout the town. The closer detective Scott got to solving the murders the more strange the case became to him. The evidence he gathered proved one thing and that was there was something definitely animalistic about it all. If he didn't know any better he would go as far as to say that here in carnival someone or something was very interesting about the victims blood.
Detective Scott realized that the murders in carnival would become a high profile case soon enough. After gathering the evidence he found on the case it was turned over to the federal government which became priority number one to the FBI. Now the minute the FBI got the okay to take over the case they were only asking several question. "Who saw what happened is what they wanted to know?" It became clear to detective Scott that they were more interested in containing whatever it was that they thought was responsible for the killings. All of the town folk demanded an explanation about what the government knew. Things had got out of control in carnival the people began to riot and became violent which led to several arrests.
Meanwhile Michael Collier looked down at the police high on top of a office building that stood directly where the first murder took place. He listen to the FBI while they discussed what they knew about how the murdered victims died. They never had a clue that Michael was there he kneeled down on the edge of the buildings like a crow that looked down upon its food. His hearing was excellent and his keen sight worked like a hawk. Michael kept his eyes on detective Scott there was something about him that was interesting to Michael.
In a way Michael saw himself in the detective Scott he knew that the detective had a side to him that put out determination. Michaels also sensed that the detective was driven by dedication. He vowed that he would have fun with detective Scott before killing him for getting to close.Michael dematerialization into thin air within seconds. He was now inside a room that only he knew about. Deep within the mansion the rose rested inside a glass case that was hidden inside a retractable wall. Michael watch the rose closely and after all these years the black rose still stood tall and was as beautiful as ever. He often thought of Susan he knew that this was the one story he never told her about.
Michael was tired he wanted to rest He didn't sleep in a casket like stories of folk lore. Instead he slept in
a double King size Italian slay bed. Which was carved In the image of a wolf with a ladies head that ascended as high as a human stood. The walls of his bedroom had been carved into the shapes of humans making love. The sight was astonishing to Michael. This was his Favorite place within all of his estate. The layer was the part of the mansion he loved the most. He spent most of his time here than anywhere else in the world. This was his labyrinth it was as ancient as he was and built long ago by his own hands. Michael knew the place well it would be his solace if he was ever exposed to the humans. The labyrinth would be the one place no one would ever find him. He could live out his days for years to come away from prying eyes.Michael Collier mansion was huge in one room he had stocks of human blood that would last him a life time. He never thought of the poor innocent victims he killed just to survive as a predator. It was his natural instinct as a animal that drove his desire to harm the humans. Deep within him he felt nothing for them if Michael had his way he would simply do away with them all. He couldn't see how Susan would want to associate her self in there presence and not eat them all.
Michael watch detective Scott while he slept he had no clue that the vampire was even there. Michael didn't harm Scott that night he just wanted to see how easy it would be if he needed to kill him at any given time.
Detective Scott had awaken to the sound that startled him out of his sleep. The moment his eyes adjusted to the light from the moon. Scott could have sworn that there was a figure of a man walking into the other room. He got out of his bed to investigate what he thought he saw. He ran to the room only to find that no one was there. He looked over at the bottle of gin he finished earlier before he went to bed without his own knowledge. He was still trying to cope with the death of his partner of ten years. Who was slain by a drug deal that went horribly bad. Detective Scott never got over what happen to his partner he started drinking to escape the reality that his partner was gone. The department insisted that he take a leave of absents, but detective Scott declined. He told external affairs that he was okay about seeing his partner gunned down and that he no longer blamed himself for not being there for him when it all went down. And as usual they didn't believe him but continued to let him work. They even went as far to see that the detective be placed on the carnival case.
Michael was melon conic about the power the rose possessed. He didn't want the rose to ever be discovered. Not by Susan Smith nor by the likes of any human being. He vowed to look after the rose it was his solemn duty to make sure the rose stayed within the mansion hidden safely away. He knew that one day Susan would figure things out and come for the rose. But until then the rose would remain safe and locked away.
