"Ayumi! Hurry up please!"
Raito yelled, knocking on Ayumi's door. Not wanting to leave the comforts of her room, Ayumi reluctantly got up to answer the door. "Common, before they realize what I'm trying to do..." Raito whispered, looking left and right as if he was a wanted criminal. "But I don't need breakfast" Ayumi complained, yawning. Raito rolled his eyes, handing her the girls uniform from the "Quirk A" section. "Clean yourself up and change, quickly..."
Ayumi changed into the uniform Raito gave her and brushed her hair. After what was less than a minute, Ayumi emerged, not at all looking like someone from the "Quirkless X" section. Raito grabbed her arm and sprinted across the hall. He only slowed down once he reached the "Quirk A" area. Panting, he looked behind him to see a slightly annoyed Ayumi, hair flying around because of static. Raito let out a laugh of relief. "Well, let's go"
They passed a giant room that looked like roughly the size of 2 football fields. There were rusted metal tables everywhere. And on both side of the room, were tables filled with food that looked more like mush and slim. The floors were covered in that food while the people were covered in dirt. In shame, all those wearing the uniforms from the "Quirkless" section were glumly eating their meals. There were also older people with workers' uniforms there eating alongside the Quirkless children. The only nice part about it was a tiny corner in the other side of the room. It was clean and the tables were only a little rusted out. "See?" Ayumi whispered to Raito, "the 'Quirkless X' section isn't so bad"
And she was right. That decent corner was for the people in the "Quirkless X" division. Because that was where all the potential Heroes start. Everyone starts of in the "Quirkless" ward, living with everyone as equals. But once your Quirk has been discovered, they put them in the different "Quirk" living spaces. If you had a powerful Quirk, then you could end up in "Quirk A", which was basically the best of the best. The A stands for Alfa. Or you could also end up in "Quirk B (beta)", "Quirk D (delta)", "Quirk G (gamma)", "Quirk O (omega)" or "Quirk". Those in the Quirk ward always just have their memories wiped, along with a few Quirkless children, and were sent back to the outside world. "If only..."
"What?" Raito asked, Ayumi still in a daze. He rubbed his fingers together and pocked her. A shock wave traveled through her whole body. Ayumi glared at Raito, but he only looked at her slyly. "What? You were the one dozing of" Ayumi sighed, kicking some orange mush that was on the floor. "Alright" she decided, "lets go"
They continued walking, away from that dreadful area and found themselves in looking into another room. This one was the size of 4 football fields. The cement floors were shiny and smooth. The walls were multicolored, the design reflecting on everyone's Quirk. There was one area that was filled with flames, and another that was filled with icebergs and a winter wonderland vibe. However, there were a few areas with no design at all. Just plain white walls. Those were reserved for those from "Quirk", the "semi useless squad". Or at least that's what Raito liked to call it. Raito steered her to a table beside a picture of Mt. Olympus. And the people there looked like they belonged there.
There was one guy with red hair and inhumanely large muscles. There was also a guy with bright and glimmering golden hair and sky blue eyes, who sat beside a girl with similar features exempt for her black hair and silver eyes. Another was a girl with striking grey eyes and raven black hair that was brushed neatly to one side. But the one that got Ayumi's attention was a girl who sat in the corner of the table. She had long blonde hair and gentle baby blue eyes. She looked around 13, roughly the same age as Raito. Ayumi may have only been 4, but she saw something that all of the people at that table didn't. "You like-" Ayumi began, before Raito covered her mouth. "Shush!" Raito whispered menacingly. Not wanting to be electrocuted, Ayumi obeyed him. "Now just hold my hand and pretend that you are my little sister..." Raito paused, thinking of the most 'suitable' name. Smirking, he finished his sentence, "Sawabe." Frowning, Ayumi nodded, taking Raito's hand.
"ZEUS!" Announced the red haired guy. "Aries!" Raito said to be polite, though he wasn't nearly as loud nor bold. "Good to see you my friend!" He told him, giving him a pat on the back. Raito looked like he just got hit by a train. But he bit his lip and smiled through the pain, "it's good to see you too..." "Who is this?" The grey eyed girl asked, interrupting the brother bonding moment. "Torasu Sawabe" Ayumi lied, "its nice to meet you." The girl looked at her with suspicion, before losing interest a few seconds later. Raito motioned for her to sit beside him, but she had other plans. She immediately took the seat beside the blonde haired girl that she thinks, and hopes, Raito has a crush on. "Hi, what's your name?" Ayumi asked before Raito could complain. She looked at her kindly, "my name is Himiko." Her voice was smooth but a bit robotic sounding. "But I like being called Hephaestus" she added, laughing. Ayumi recalled that Hephaestus was quite ugly and she was actually super beautiful. "If you are asking why," Himiko continued, seeing Ayumi's puzzled face, "it's because I see the beauty within, and Hephaestus was kind and intelligent."
"Sorry Raito, looks like she doesn't like people like you" Ayumi told him. The moment Himiko finished her statement, Raito pulled her aside for a little chat. Raito looked confused and disappointed at the same time. "Really...?" He asked, what Ayumi said taking full effect. His eyes were reddening, he could cry at any second. Ayumi looked at him with malice, waiting for the first tear to shed before telling the whole truth. "Well," Ayumi said, Raito wiping away his tear, "she didn't say that exactly-" "then what did she say?!" Raito questioned, annoyed. "She said that she is into guys who are kind at heart and smart" Ayumi confessed, before adding sarcastically, "unfortunately for you my friend, you posses none of those qualities." Raito was just a centimeter away from chocking her to death when Himiko called them. "You two! Time for some lunch!"
Making a silent and temporary pact, the two of them joined the table, unaware of the things that were to come in mere seconds.
