Nature Freak {Laxus x Reader}

Prologue

The screams surrounding Y/n were deafening. The small village was engulfed in flames, the heat almost too much to handle for the little girl. Sobs escaped her throat, sounding scratchy because of the amount of ash that she inhaled. "Mama! Papa! Where are you?" She croaked out, looking for her now-deceased parents.

"Y/n? What happened?"

The little girl turned around and saw her older brother, who was a wizard in some guild she didn't know. She sobbed even harder. The boy bent down and picked Y/n up, turning around and running out of the burnt village. "Jackson? Where are we going?" Y/n asked, tears still flowing down her face. "I'm taking you to someone that will watch over you while I'm gone," the boy answered, running into the forest. "Why?" She asked. "Why what?" Jackson asked. "Why are you leaving?" She asked again, looking up at Jackson with big eyes.

"I just have to."

The little girl was quiet as she curled up in his hands. Jackson stopped running and set Y/n down, bending down so he could face her. "Y/n, right through that passage will be Rose. She's a dragon and she'll take care of you. Please, don't be scared," Jackson said. "When will you come back?" Y/n asked. "Soon. But, just in case I don't, take this." Jackson held his hands out.

"Crystal make; crown."

A crown appeared in his hands and he placed it on his sister's head. It was very beautiful, but she didn't have time to worry about that. "Jack... don't go," She whimpered. Jackson sighed and grabbed Y/n in a hug. "I'm sorry, but I have to do this. I'll come find you again, I promise," he whispered. "O-Okay. I'll miss you, Jackie," Y/n whispered, kissing his cheek. "I'll miss you too, Y/n. Now, be good for Rose."

Those were his last words to Y/n as he set off on his adventure.
