Chapter One- Her Phoenix

Beep. Beep. Beep. 

"Ugh,"

Beep. Beep. Beep

"Uuggghh,"

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

"UUUUGGGHHHHHH!"

Sunset yelled as she scooted toward her nightstand. She shuffled her hand around, trying to feel for her phone without opening her eyes. When she couldn't find it, she aggressively swung her arm in the general vicinity of where she though her phone was. One by one, she knocked off everything that was on her nightstand. She groaned in frustration when she still couldn't find her phone. She opened her eyes to small slits to see where her stupid phone had gone. Sunset noticed that it wasn't on her nightstand so she look on the ground. Surly enough, she found her phone to be laying next to her nightstand's feet. She tried reaching for her phone without getting of the bed, but all that led to her falling off her bed and bumping her head against her nightstand.

'Uuuuuugggghhhhhh,' Sunset mentally groaned. 'I can't believe how lucky I am,' she sarcastically said to herself.

BEEP. BEEP BEEP. Her alarm was still going off. She quickly turned it off and got up to go get ready for school. Sunset headed towards her closet and picked out her favorite leather jacket and matching black heeled boots. She also grabbed a simple teal blouse and a pair of comfy, faded, dark blue skinny jeans, before heading to her bathroom.

She got out of the bathroom once she was ready for school. She saw that she still had 5 minutes before she had to leave, so she jumped back onto her bed and laid on her back. She turned on her phone and started to scroll through Canterlot High's Instagram page. She and her friends recently performed at a fundraising event to help support the animal club that Fluttershy was starting. The picture of them performing were on the page, and Sunset took her time smiling at each. A notification popped up on the top of the screen, so Sunset tapped it.

"Hey babe," it read on the screen.

Sunset smiled big when who the text was from. Flash Sentry: her boyfriend. She and Flash dated the end of freshman year to the beginning of sophomore year. At the time, she was using him to get more popular at school. But ever since she had changed, she had always felt an attraction towards Flash. When Twilight (the princess one) was in town, Sunset saw the chemistry between her and Flash. To be honest, she did feel jealous. But Twilight  hasn't visited in over 6 months. And since the new Twilight has that thing with Timber, Flash gave up. Sometimes Sunset felt like a rebound, but Flash assured her that he would put his all into their relationship. They started dating right after returning from Camp Everfree. It's been 3 months since then, and everything has been going great. 

"Hey," Sunset responded to Flash's text.

"Ready for school?" Flash asked.

"Ugh well. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Literally. But other than that, I'm so ready to see the girls. I didn't get to see them since friday's event." Sunset typed and sent her message.

"Hey what about me? Don't you miss me toooo?" Sunset smiled and shook her head when she read Flash's text. 

"Flash, I saw you last night, remember? We went to the drive-in theatre," Sunset typed back.

"Oh yeah. Now I remember. That was when you spilled your entire soda over yourself, so I had to take you home early because you were drenched in Dr.Pepper. Oh yeah I totally remember." He responded.

Sunset could practically hear Flash laughing his guts out. "Oh hahah very funny. I got to head to school. See you there."

"Ok. Bye babe." Flash sent, ending their conversation 

Sunset grabbed her car keys and walked out of her apartment. She smiled knowing it would only be a little while longer till she got to see all the people she cared about.
