Warning: This chapter is not for the weak-hearted.

The rest of the car ride was in complete silence. They had argued in the past, but not as seriously. The last time the couple went through a hiccup as severe as this was when they dated earlier in high school. They broke up right there and then.

Sunset was still mad. She felt bad they had an inside connection drop Flash's charges. Flash would get himself into trouble all the time. He didn't have a good connection with his parents so he didn't have any second thoughts. He would do something impulsively and Sunset would end up cleaning up his mess.

Flash was upset that Sunset didn't give him a chance to explain. Yes, he was too at fault for his own arrest, but he had his reasoning behind it. All he wanted was for his girlfriend to stop acting like a mother and just listen to him.

Sunset's car arrived at her apartment complex. She got out of her car and angrily hurried to her apartment. Flash followed behind her. He probably should've given her some space, but he wanted to talk to her first.

Walking into her apartment, Sunset tossed her her keys and phone onto her couch. She went to go look for Shadow, refusing to to acknowledge Flash behind her. She peeked into the bathroom and saw Shadow playing with the furry mat. Sunset extended her arms outward, but Shadow walked right past her. Sunset turned to follow her kitten when she saw that Flash was standing in the bathroom doorway, blocking her. Sunset looked down to see Shadow, who was circling Flash's legs. She looked at Sunset, seemed to nod, and walk away. Sunset tried to go after her but Flash didn't move out of the doorway. Sunset kept her eyes glued to the ground when she felt Flash's stare on her. He wasn't going to get out of her way that easy.

"Move." Sunset said with no emotion.

"No." Flash curtly responded.

"I said move," Sunset repeated. Her tone was a bit more forceful.

"And I said no." Flash said. Sunset still refused to look up at him. Flash put his hand underneath her chin and said, "Sunset, look at me."

When she refused, Flash gently tilted her head up to look at him.

Her bright teal eyes stared at his dark blue ones. He analyzed her face; every feature, every frown line, every smile line, every scar. He looked into her eyes once again. They shone with anger, but there was a hint of sadness behind it all. He knew because whenever she was down in the dumps, her eyes turned a bit more green. Noticing the green tint just confirmed his thoughts.

He looked at her lips. Oh, how he wanted to kiss her right now. But he knew better than that. She would be even more upset if he had tried to kiss the forgiveness out of her. He looked back into her eyes and mustered up enough courage to speak.

"I'm sorry,"

Sunset continued to look at him. The frown lines on her forehead deepened a bit. Flash's heart hurt a bit at the lack of reaction from her.

"I'm sorry. I know you are tired of this. You don't want to have to keep on getting me out of trouble," He started. He grabbed her hands and ran his thumb across her knuckles.

"All you wanted was a stable life. The past three years have been a mess, and you're just tired. Once you finally got everything together, I started to act up. And I'm so sorry."

Sunset opened her mouth to say something, but Flash cut her off before she could say anything.

"Just listen. Sunset for this one time. Afterwards, you can scream and scold me all you want. But please, let me explain first. Please."

Susnet had never seen Flash so desperate. She decided to let him speak, uninterrupted.

" My parents have been pressuring me to be more calm and hardworking. It was just my way of rebelling. Every party I went to, every late night rave, every time I was in trouble, my parents never came. But you did. You were the one to take me home. I was, and still am, acting like a child." Flash said, his eyes started to tear up.

Sunset's heart tore a little. She had never seen Flash cry. She realized how insensitive she had been and she wanted to take it all back. But Flash wasn't done.

"Everyone always says that I was the one who changed you; that I was the one who saved you. They were all wrong. YOU were the one to save me. I'm trying to change, to not be as impulsive and immature. I just need time."

Sunset felt her eyes tearing up. She held them in as best as she could.

"The reason I was at the school was that I heard a few kids from Crystal Prep were gonna trash the campus. A few of the guys and I went to check it out, but once it was clear that it was just a rumor, we all were going to leave. The boys had all left and I was about to get into my car, when I saw someone in front of the school. I thought it was you, even though I knew you didn't have a black hoodie like the one she was wearing. I went up to her, but she panicked. That's when I realized it wasn't you. I yelled out, once I realized she had spray painted the statue. She threw her bag of paints at my head, and I ended up getting knocked out. The next thing I know, I was surrounded by officers getting handcuffed."

The guilt inside of Sunset was so strong she felt like collapsing. Flash was just caught at the wrong place, at the wrong time. She just wanted to hold Flash in her arms and apologize.

"I know you're mad. You have all the reason to be. But please don't leave. I need you..." He trailed off. He needed a moment to collect himself. He held her hands tighter. She didn't react in any way. Flash felt defeated. She didn't say anything. Flash let go of her hands, understanding her message. He backed up, the hurt in his eyes strong.

"Flash..." Sunset said softly. She stepped toward him, leaving very little distance between them. She reached her shaky hands up to his face. Now she was the one afraid of rejection. She placed her hands on the sides of his face. She pulled him toward her, lightly. Flash took a small step toward her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, lacking confidence. They stared at each other, silently. Sunset pulled Flash's face closer to hers and softly placed her lips against his. Flash stood shocked, but then felt relieved. He held her tighter and deepened the kiss. There bodies were now pressed up against each other. The kiss remained soft and forgiving.

They eventually pulled away. Sunset pressed her forehead against Flash's.

"I'm sorry," she whispered. She put her hands on his chest. His heart was beating fast underneath her touch.

"I'm sorry," he repeated. He loved the feeling of her body against his. But he loved it even more that she didn't hate him.

"I hate it when we fight."

" I hate it too. How about we never fight again?" Flash proposed

"Mmmm. We'll see..." Sunset responded, borderline smirking.

Flash grinned with hope. He pulled Sunset to him once again. He removed one hand from her waist and brought it to the back of her head. He pulled her head to his, allowing their lips to meet.

Neither one of them wanted to break away from the perfect moment. Their perfect moment.

Hey y'all. I thought we needed a sweet, romantic-ish chapter before we get into the action( I know I suck at writing lovey-dovey scenes, so I apologize if the ending is actual trash.) Flash will of course be there for Sunset, but only she can defeat her own demons. Anyway. I'm really excited for where this story is going.

Love,

Rarity.
