Sarah's P.O.V.
It's the next morning which means I spend the day in the city spoiling myself. I wish Jason was going with me but he has clients to work on. I lay in bed listening to the shower run which means Jason is up and getting ready.
I slip out on my shower and just decide to get dressed. I wear my comfy jeans, a baggy sweatshirt, and my favorite converse. I wait for Jason to come out of the bathroom so I can freshen up. The door final opens to reveal a wet Jason with a towel hung low on his hips. I bite my lip without realizing and blush as Jason's eyes focus on it.
I squeeze by him and close the door I brush my teeth and hair throwing it into a messy bun. I douse myself in my favorite perfume. I walk out of the bathroom and down the stairs. I go to the kitchen to get coffee but stop when I see Lily. It's been weeks since I last saw her since we told her to take the holidays off.
"You guys really left me a mess." She says when she sees me. I smile and walk closer to her.
"Sorry." I giggle and make a cup of coffee.
"How are you dear?" She asks with the Italian accent I've missed so much.
"I'm okay. How are you?" I ask holding the warm cup in my hands.
"Pretty good." She says warmly. Over that past months Lily and I got close we would talk for hours while I followed her around the house as she cleaned. She's a blessing to have around here.
"Oh dear let me see that." Lily says gesturing to the rock I carry on my left hand. I smile as I stick out my hand.
"He proposed on Christmas morning." I say remembering the morning like it was yesterday.
"Her whole family was there and her best friend. I got down on one knee in front of the tree and asked her." Jason says startling me. I look up and see him standing in the doorway eyeing Lily and I.
"That's absolutely amazing. I'm so happy for you two." Lily says giving me a side hug.
"Thank you." I say with a warm smile. I finish my cup a coffee just as the door bell rings. Jason has already left for work and left me his credit card. I protested but he insisted.
"Bye Lily. Will you be home this evening?" I ask be fore walking out of the room.
"With this mess probably. Have a good one." She laughs waving. I grab my coat off the hook and open the door.
"Morning Jeff." I chirp stepping outside.
"Good morning Miss Sarah." He says as we walk to the car. He opens the back door and I climb in the car already warmed to a perfect temperature. We ride along until I realize we aren't on the highway like we should.
"Jeff, why aren't we in the highway?" I ask. He looks at me in the rear view mirror.
"Jason's orders miss." Jeff says. I scroll through a cosmopolitan magazine on my phone till the car stops. I look up to see we are at Brandon's house.
"What are we doing here?" I ask.
"I'll be back." He says leaving the car. I watch him go to the door and see Kelsey exit the house. Jeff holds her elbow helping her along the way in case of any ice. Jeff opens the door and Kelsey slides in.
"Hi Sarah. Hope you don't mind me joining you." Kelsey says pulling me into a hug. I'm a little shocked but happy.
"Not at all." I say I quickly shoot Jason a text saying, "not sure if I hate you right now or love you even more. Thank you"
"So where do you want to go to first." Kelsey chirps up.
"I want to get something sexy for Jason." I say winking at her. She giggles.
"I wish I could fit into stuff. This belly gets in the way. I think Brandon likes it though he always has a hand on it or is talking to it." Kelsey says with a subtle smile.
"You guys are so adorable." I say rolling my eyes.
"So are you and Jason. How are things with y'all?" She asks.
"They are good." I say with a smile looking at my hands. I twist my fingers together and Kelsey grabs my hands.
"What's wrong?" She asks. I bite my lip and look at her.
"It's my mom." I say as my voice cracks.
"Oh no. Spill to me." She says.
"Jason and I went to dinner with her before New Years as you know. Well a few days later she called and told me I have a step sibling. Then Dustin got back in contact with me as you saw at the party. I'm okay with that just not my mom and Jeffrey." I say with tears wanting to fall.
"Aw Sarah." She says pulling me into a hug.
"I just don't know how to feel. I know my mom is gonna want me to meet him or her. She wants to be in my life. Should I give her a second chance?" I ask.
"What has Jason said?" She asks.
"He says he's by my side every step of the way whatever my decision is." I say.
"Well then maybe you should give her a chance and if you thinks it's not good fade away again." She says. I pull away.
"Okay. I'll try." I say. We reach Michigan avenue in Chicago 15 minutes later. Jeff drops us off and we start to hit up different stores. I try not to use Jason's card and just use mine. I bought so many clothes and accessories, Jason did say spoil myself. With bags filling both hands we start to head to any early dinner.
We decide on grand lux cafe. We've been here before and just loved it so we wanted to come back. Kelsey and I sit in a window seat that over looks Michigan avenue. We order our drinks and I get a phone call. I see I have no service and tell Kelsey I'm gonna go out side to get better service.
"Hello" I say into the phone as soon as I'm outside.
"Hi baby. I think you should be happy for what I did today. How's your day going?" Jason asks.
"Thank you then I love you. It's going great. We are getting an early dinner right now." I say.
"I love you too, That's good. I was just calling to check up on you." He says and I can feel his smile through the phone. I watch the busy street an hear a voice behind me that I thought I'd never hear again.
"Hello darling." The voice says and I drop my phone. I feel like I've stopped breathing as two hands grab me and push me into a car SUV. Why didn't I scream for help?~~~~
