Jason's P.O.V.
Olivia insisted on staying with Sarah and i for the next week. She wants to plan the wedding with Sarah and help Sarah out. Sarah has only been home a day and is doing great. Just like her normal self but Olivia wants to be extra sure.
Coming home yesterday night was such a relief. It felt good to be back, well almost. I never got the chance to clean up after Sarah started puking so I had to clean that up. Sarah said she would do it but I wanted to show her I can do stuff too. What if we have kids? I'm gonna have to get used to gross stuff.
Kids. I can't wait for Sarah and I to have little ones running around. When I was younger I thought I was gonna run a tattoo shop forever and never settle down. I was gonna stick to one night stands. Victoria really messed up the way I looked at things. Sarah only made them better and in the best way possible.
Every time I see the engagement ring or promise ring on Sarah I get butterflies. When she gives me a warm smile I just want to kiss her sweet lips. Sarah is my true love and I can't be more happy that I've found her.
Sarah is currently sitting across from me in the living room. She insisted that I started the fireplace so the house would smell like firewood. She loves the fireplace, it was her dean growing up to have one. She snuggled in the chair closet to the fireplace with a book in her hand. I just watch her as her eyes flutter back and forth.
A glass of scotch in resting in my hand. My eyes trail to the fire as I watch the wood burn. Scotch, Sarah, fireplace, could life get any better.
The door bell rings and Sarah's yes dart up from the book. It's probably Olivia finally coming over. She said she had to work late and I guess so. I get up and take a small sip from my glass before setting it on the table.
I unlock the front door and open it. Alex is standing there. Not Olivia.
"Hey Jason. Is this a bad time?" He asks glancing past my shoulder.
"No. Come in." I say stepping aside. He walks in a shut the door. He waits by the door as I walk into the living room.
"Hey honey. I have to go up to my office. A friend stopped by. Olivia should be coming shortly. Will you be okay?" I ask grabbing my scotch.
"Yeah I'll be fine. Go." She says. I lean down and kiss her before heading back to Alex.
"Lets go up to my office." I say as he follows me. We head up the flight of stairs and down the hall to my office. We walk into the room and Alex closes the door.
"Drink?" I ask holding up my glass.
"Sure." He says and I go the my table and pour him a glass. I hand it to him and I sit in my chair behind the desk.
"Alex what's up?" I say. We hardly talk in person.
"Your dad is on the move. We can't track him down." He says.
"What does this mean?" I ask with a sigh. He sits in the chair across from me.
"I don't know exactly. He still has the company so he's gonna have to come back to the country. We are trying to find him." He says.
"Okay. Anything else?" I ask taking a swig of my scotch.
"Victoria isn't with your dad." Alex says looking away.
  "What?" I half yell.
"We've been tracking her too and we see that she's back in the country. Maybe she's running the company but we don't know." He says looking back.
"Fuck." I say with a clenched jaw.
"Jason we are really trying." Alex says. He sips his drink.
"I know you are. Sarah is gonna plan the wedding this week. I'll give you the date we picked and then we can go from there. I just need hem gone. If Sarah knows they are 'missing' then she's gonna get scared." I say quoting missing.
"I know. We will continue to track them down. Is there anything else we can do?" He asks.
"No not right now. Thank you though." I say.
"Okay. I gotta go. I'll keep in touch." Alex says standing up. I reach across the table and shake his hand.
"You can let yourself out." I say and he walks away. I sit there frustrated. I start to get impatient and stand up.
A murder is walking the streets and isn't being stopped. A murder that killed my mother. A murder I once called my dad. I clench the glass in my hand and drink the remainder of it. I yell and I throw the drink at the wall in frustration and anger. Glass shatters every where across the room.
I soon hear footsteps coming up the stairs quickly. Sarah and Olivia stand in the doorway horrified. They inch closer.
"Stay. There's glass everywhere." I say still looking at the wall. Sarah doesn't listen and rushes to me.
"What is wrong?" She asks with concern in her eyes. I look away from her. I can't scare her. I don't want to tell her the truth.
  "Nothing." I shrug.
"Jason look at me. There is obviously something wrong." She says pulling my face to look at her. My eyes burns and a lump forms in my throat. I close my eyes so she won't see them.
"Please stay clam when I tell you." I can hear Olivia stop whatever she's doing. The room falls silent. I can feels the tears slip away from my eyes and down my cheeks. Sarah stops them by rubbing them away with her thumbs.
I open my eyes again to look at Olivia. She's standing by my desk with a scared look. I keep my eyes on Sarah before I speak. She nods showing it's okay and that she's here for me.
"My dad can't be tracked down. Victoria is somewhere in the country. Their mafia is scattered across every country. Lastly they killed my mother. Ruth Rivera was murder." I say chocking on every word I say. Olivia drops the floor and cries. Sarah wraps her arms around me tight. I don't hold back and tears come faster then every before. I can feel Sarah's tears on my shirt so I pull her away.
"Hey.. it's gonna be okay.." I trail off cause I can't find words to speak. She nods and I give her a final hug before going to my sister.
I sit next to her and pull her close. She grips onto me like this is the last time we will ever see each other. Olivia is hurt I know she is. She never realized mom was murdered like I did. Now she knows the truth and what's worse is that it was our own father.
We stay close to each other for a while before she calms down and pulls away. Her eyes are bloodshot and puff and I'm sure mine are too.
"How do you know all this?" She asks her voice weak and broke.
"I have a private investigator. His name is Alex. That's who just walked out." I say as calmly as I can. I have to be strong for her and Sarah now. I need to be the man in this situation to protect them.
"How long have you known?" She asks standing up and I follow her actions.
"Since mom died. I didn't tell you because I wanted to keep you safe. I wanted to keep Sarah safe too. I'm sorry." A flash of hurt crosses her eyes but she nods in understand meant.
"Are you gonna be okay?" I ask her.
"I'll be okay." She shrugs and walks away. Sarah must have cleaned up the glass since I see none. I stare at my office looking from the mahogany desk to the doors that match. I sigh and shut the door.
