Jason's P.O.V.
The door bell rings cause me and Sarah to jump out of our sleep. She groans rolling over to bury her face in the couch. I get up stretching before walking over to the door. It the early hours of the morning because the sun is barely rising. Just before I open the door the door bell rings causing Sarah to half scream in frustration. I open the door to my dad.
"Dad?" I ask. Why is here? Also, how does he know I live here? This is the one place Sarah should feel safe and protected from this kind of stuff. I realize from the morning breeze that I'm just in my boxers and a t-shirt.
"We have business to do." He says barging past me. I shut the door seeing he invited himself in.
"It's a Sunday. Can't I sleep in and have a break? I didn't even sleep in." I groan.
"You have a lot to get caught up on. Where's your office?" He asks.
"Can you wait in the living room while I get ready and have some coffee in me?" I ask.
"Fine." He says walking into the room. I can see him sit across from Sarah on one of the chairs. Sarah peaks her head out of the blanket and screams my name. I rush in.
"Good Morning darling." My father says. My skin boils when he says darling towards her.
"Don't call her darling." I spit out.
"My bad." He says looking away. Sarah gets up with the blanket wrapped around her. She's only in a shirt with nothing under.
"Come on. You stay." I say point to my father. Sarah follows me to the kitchen.
"What is he doing here?" She asks mad but in a hushed voice. I start making some coffee but talk to her as I do so.
"He needs to talk to me about business." I say truthfully.
"Can you get him out of here as soon as possible. He creeps me out." She says leaning over the counter with the blanket wrapped tight.
"I will. I promise. Head up stairs to our room and I'll be up there as soon as he's gone. No snooping either. Okay?" I say giving her instructions.
"Fine." She says walking away. The coffee takes a few more minutes until it ready. I pour a cup and head back to the living room.
"Shall we?" I ask in the doorway. My dad is standing at the mantle looking at the pictures Sarah put up. He specifically has his eyes on the picture taken the night of the art gala. Sarah and I stand in her old apartment as my arm is wrapped around her waist and she kissing my cheek. It was Kelsey's idea to take that picture.
"Yeah let's go." He says turning around. He follows me up the stairs and into my office. I sit behind the desk as my dad lingers by the door. He waits a second then shuts it and come to sit across from me.
"You have a lovely home." My Dad says looking around the office. I roll my eyes and take a sip of my coffee.
"So why are you here?" I ask. His eyes land on me.
"There is a work gala coming up. It's for all the top CEO's in the world. I need you and Sarah to be there. It's this coming Friday. I'll have Ralf or someone forward you the rest of the information." He says.
"Is that all you came for?" I ask.
"No. I also need to let you know that you need to start coming into work every Monday and Tuesday. This will be starting after the gala. This doesn't include meeting or other important events, those days will be separate." He says. I sip my coffee.
"Okay that will work." I say.
"Also you will get paid $200 each week. If you do poorly no payment." My father says like he hate having to say this.
"Deal." I say. He gets up.
"That will be all." He says. I get up and follow him down stairs. He leaves without exchanging goodbyes. I run upstairs to find Sarah sleeping in bed. I decide to just let her sleep while I take a long hot shower.
Standing under the hot water I think of all that's happening. Nothing will ever be the same around here. Sarah is gonna have to get along with a person that made her have nightmares. I'm gonna have to work around a murder. Life is just so peachy.
I finish my shower and put on jeans a sweatshirt. It still smells like Sarah from the last time she wore it. I can always find her snuggled up in my clothes. I go back to our room and see she isn't there. A rush of panic goes through me as I run down the stairs.
  "Sarah!" I yell.
"In here." She yells from the living room. I find her sitting on the couch flipping through a magazine with a stack next to her.
"What are you doing?" I ask. Her eyes find mine and they are soft and inviting. She gives me a warm smile and pats the seat next to hers.
"Browsing wedding catalogs." She says as I sit down.
"Where did you get all these?" I ask shuffling through the various magazines. Some are for dresses, venues, and idea/styles.
"I went to a bridle boutique and picked some up. I scheduled my first appointment for dress for the middle of February. I want to pick out my dress so badly." She gushes out with excitement.
"You're adorable." I say kissing her cheek. I try my head on her shoulder so I can see what she's looking at. She looking at a magazine for style and ideas.
"What kind of wedding are you thinking about?" I ask.
"A classic wedding. Some place in the city maybe. I want it to be a decent size and I want it to be perfect. I also want there to be tons of flowers and maybe even have candles everywhere but not in a hazardous way. Also I was.." she says with so excitement flipping through pages to point things out.
"Sarah just write everything down and I'll take care of it." I laugh.
"Jason I'm serious I want this too be perfect. Just look at this one." She says point to a picture of a wedding ceremony. Flowers and candles decorate the place perfectly just like Sarah talked about.
"Okay I understand. Pick a few venues and I'll call for reservations. Okay?" I say lifting my head off her shoulder.
"Okay deal." She says flipping through more magazines. She has a pad of paper balanced on her knee as she gets to work.
"Are you hungry?" I ask a few minutes later.
"Yes." She says pausing from writing.
"Okay then lets go." I say pulling her off the couch.
"Where?" She asks.
"Any where you pick." I tell her. She thinks about it.
"Okay dress casual but not too casual." She says as we walk up the stairs.
"Okay." I say and we get ready. Sarah gets dressed in leggings, cozy sweater and boots. I wear jeans and a sweater as well. We head out to the car and I open the door for her. She gives me a kiss on the cheek as she gets in. Her soft warm lips on my cold cheek felt so comforting.
"Okay where to?" I ask after I get in.
"New Lenox I'll give you the rest of the details when we get there." She says.
